  • The Leyland Panther was a rear-engined single-deck bus chassis built by Leyland between 1964 and 1971. It gained a reputation for unreliability, which to some extent was common to many of the first generation of rear-engined single-deckers. It was sold to a number of operators in the United Kingdom, but a number of them were built for export. The largest quantity of Panthers was purchased by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik AB, SL, in Sweden, which took 150 with bodywork by Park Royal in 1967. In total, over 600 Panther chassis were built.

A few Panthers were built as coaches with a higher chassis frame, most of these being bodied by Plaxton, but they were quite rare.
