Henna even preferred working under quarantine with the sick to working for Crane. She arrived at Urda's House around the 8th day of Sap Moon, where she explained to Briar how a healer looked for disease and treated a patient. After the disease had spread over the city and Duke Vedris cleared his Arsenal warehouse and opened it for use of a hospital Henna left Urda's House and went to set things up in the Arsenal warehouse. Later she contracted the disease along with several other dedicates and novices. She was moved with the other temple members to the Winding Circle to be treated. While trying to help a couple of sick novices she used up her magic and died. Henna is described as a corpulent, wide-hipped woman with dark brown eyes and hair, resembling the color of newly minted bronze. Henna only appears in Briar's Book and dies during the course of the novel.
