abstract
  • On 22 July 2011, Jagex announced the "Awesome-RuneFest 2011-Item-Headgear-Concept-Competition" via the RuneFest website. The competition involved players submitting concept ideas for the 2011 item, with the only condition being that it be headgear. The winning design was revealed on 8 September 2011 and was designed by Marikdebie. The item was released into the game on the first day of RuneFest (29 October 2011). However, unlike the previous year's Flagstaff, the hood was only available to players who actually attend the event, rather than just solely purchasing a ticket. The Runefest bags given to players upon their arrival contained a scratch card with an item code. The code can be redeemed from Diango in Draynor Village. This was done to prevent the issue of players buying a ticket solely for the item rather than the event, which happened the previous year with the Flagstaff. RuneFest hoods are not IP specific; they can be redeemed anywhere, contrary to myth. Since the update on 30 October 2013, the hood has now a Customise option, giving the ability to change the colour of the white parts of the hood.
