  • Gold Piece, often referred to as "GP", is the most commonly used monetary unit on Titan, and is in fact ubiquitous in its distribution. The Gold Piece is known by many names across the face of the world of Titan. Although the origin of the Gold Piece can mean a variation of the purity of the gold used, or indeed the amount generally the Gold Piece is a standard value. Generally, the Gold Piece is worth 10 Silver Pieces ("SP").
  • Gold pieces are the standard currency of NWN2. Gold pieces do not have weight. "Gold coins are weightless because the minting process involves mashing up little air mephits to create a weightless alloy. Because this alloy is only possible with gold and not copper or silver, copper and silver currency has fallen out of favor and hardly anyone uses them anymore, certainly not adventurers. In short, a wizard did it." [1]
  • Gold Pieces are new Usual Items that appear when you pop a Gold Bloon. There is a 60% chance of 2 Gold Pieces to appear instead of one. Gold Pieces used to craft other items, such as a Gold Lead Revetment.
  • The party's wealth can be seen in the lower central part of the inventory screen. Prices in the game vary depending on various factors. The better your Reputation and Charisma - the lower the prices you pay when buying from merchants. The lower the amount of the item the merchant has in store, the higher the price you can sell it to him/her. All prices on this wiki are at the base, unchanged price.
  • The maximum gold a creature (including player characters) can have is 4,294,967,295, although odd behavior may occur if a creature's gold goes over 2,147,483,647. (This is usually not a concern, though, as under normal circumstances, a player character's gold rarely goes above a few million.) The maximum gold that can be found in a single stack in a container is 50,000, although a container may have multiple stacks of gold.
  • The gold piece is Oberin's form of currency and is commonly abbreviated as gp. Gold pieces are used to buy and sell items, and are just like dollars, pounds or yen. Shops in Oberin always buy and sell using gold pieces. When players trade with themselves, they can use whatever they want; some use gold, but others prefer to pay with reagents or other raw materials. A player's bank is capped at 10,000,000gp. Any amount deposited in excess of this number is lost, with no possibility of recovery.
  • Gold Pieces is the currency of the Forgotten Realms in which the games are set. The player's wealth can be seen the right top of the inventory screen of any party member. Prices vary depending on Charisma of the character who is currently leading the party, and not the first character created in the party creation. The better the charisma of the character, the lower the selling prices of the merchant selling items to you. In Icewind Dale II, prices are also influenced by some feats, such as Mercantile Background.
  • The gold piece is generally considered to be a coin, though ingots or trade bars made of gold or other materials may be worth multiple gold pieces. In coin form, it is generally described as “approximately the size and weight of a United States half-dollar coin” meaning 30.6mm in diameter and weighing 11.5 grams (approximately 40 to a pound). In “Basic” D&D (and previous editions) and First Edition AD&D, despite the described weight, gold pieces are considered to weigh a tenth of a pound (1.6 standard ounces) each for encumbrance purposes, with 10 gp weighing one pound. Indeed, in these editions of the game, the basic unit of weight/encumbrance is either the “coin” (cn in Basic D&D) or the “Gold Piece Weight” (gpw), either of which equals one tenth of a pound.

Items are usually bought from merchants above 100% and sold to merchant beneath the 100% value.

Any amount deposited in excess of this number is lost, with no possibility of recovery. The amount of gold that a character may deposit in or withdraw from the bank at one time is effectively capped at 999,999 gp. If a character deposits or withdraws an amount greater than this in one action, then that character's file will become corrupted, with no chance of recovery. When depositing or withdrawing large amounts of gold from the bank, the amount of gold in one's inventory does not matter. However, one would be wise to keep an eye on the amount of gold being moved at one time.

Starting in Second Edition AD&D and continuing through Third and Fourth Editions, gold pieces are considered to weigh approximately a third of a standard ounce (9 grams) each, which equal about fifty gp to a pound, while maintaining the size equal.
