Before they part ways to pursue their separate paths, she gives him a gift that ensures they will always stay in touch: if he ever needs her, all he has to do is call. Her curious nature has led her to several discoveries on the nature of magic, and she is frighteningly powerful: where Link can call down a couple lighting bolts that leave him drained, she can summon pillar after pillar of electric blasts with barely a moment's casting time, or toss an unwary person into the air and "lock" them into place whoever long she desires. Her favorite element to play with is Wind, which she can manipulate to induce haunting melodies out of thin air. One of only a very small portion of female mages in a male-dominated field, she shows off her womanliness as a slap in the face to the more bigoted members of the Mages' Guild. She is either feared and admired, or feared and envied, by her co-workers. Either way, she will not tolerate insolence.

  • Lydia is a bespectacled, redheaded pig whose most prominent appearance on The Muppet Show was in episode 102, where she danced along to Kermit the Frog's rendition of "Lydia, the Tattooed Lady." Lydia's body is almost entirely covered in tattoos (which were drawn by Jim Henson). They feature prominently in her dance routine, a style similar to belly dancing with body gyrating and twerking. Her moves are considered sensual, as Miss Piggy takes issue with Kermit having enjoyed the performance as evidenced by a punch in the face. Lydia made one more appearance on The Muppet Show (without her glasses), where she was performed by Abby Hadfield in "The Entertainer" as part of her audition in episode 203. Unlike the other pigs on The Muppet Show, Lydia had hooves instead of hands. Her tattoos include "Washington Crossing the Delaware", "the Battle of Waterloo", the Eiffel Tower, the Wreck of the Hesperus, an American flag, and Albert Einstein's equation for relativity.

  • In the strip in which Lydia first appears, Linus goes over to her and asks if he can have lunch with her. She asks him how old he is, and finds out that Linus is two months older than she is, making her ask, "Aren't you kind of old for me?" Many of her subsequent appearances in the strip would be based around the same gag, or with her treating Linus like an old man, even once calling him "sir". In one strip Linus tells her that he saw her hanging out with a boy a year older than she is, but Lydia replies, "Well there's older, then there's older." Charlie Brown tries sticking up for Linus in one strip where he says that Linus is not too old for Lydia. He tells her, "He's still young in many ways. You should see him with his blanket" to which Linus replies "AAUGH!" Another running gag with Lydia is that she often changes her name, for example, saying, "Today my name is Anna." That joke seems to annoy Linus. In one strip he asks her "Isn't this joke getting a little old" to which she replies "Speaking of old, aren't you a little old for me?" Linus likes Lydia at first but soon begins to find her annoying and treats her the same way that he treats Sally. Ironically however, some later strips suggest Lydia may have a crush on Linus. In one Sunday strip Lydia convinces Linus to write a love note for a girl he likes. Unfortunately, Linus does not seem to realise she means the note to be for herself, so instead gives it to the girl sitting in the desk in front of him. In another short series of strips Lydia tells Linus to buy her a music box for Valentine's Day. At first Linus appears uninterested in doing so, but eventually complies. He is disappointed however to find that Lydia has already received several other music boxes, presumably from other boys who like her (or who she had talked into giving her one). Lydia appeared in the "Yuletide Greetings from Linus" segment of Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales, which features a storyline from the strip involving Linus's attempts to send her a Christmas card, only to find out Lydia had given him the wrong address. Although Eudora is often considered the last major addition to the Peanuts cast, some may argue that Lydia instead holds this position, considering she continued to appear for over a decade after her debut, albeit sparingly.

She tells them her story as they travel back to her village in search of Lujon. Once there, they discover that everyone has succumbed to the disease. • Blonde, British-accented Lydia was commander of the Earth fleet while Diana was being held prisoner on Earth. Lydia rose through the ranks to attain the rank of Chief Security Officer. While every bit as power-hungry as Diana, Lydia was far less sadistic. She had a propensity to inform on Diana (for whom she had little respect) to the Leader and overseers such as Philip and Charles. When Diana returned to the fleet, she took control from Lydia, who was none too thrilled. She was horrified when Diana diverted the Particle Beam Triax diverted from its assignment to protect the homeworld. While Diana went to sign a peace treaty with Nathan Bates, Lydia was left in charge and under her watch that Robert Maxwell destroyed the Triax with the stolen mothership. Soon afterwards, she aided Diana by providing information on Kyle Bates, who Diana wanted to use against his father. Unfortunately for her, Mike Donovan and Ham Tyler foiled her plot. Lydia was unconvinced that Diana’s next plot would work as she watched Diana and a converted Sean Donovan trying to extract information from his father through trickery. She was given the job of killing Donovan afterwards but he surprised her, knocking her out. She continued to work begrudgingly under Diana she Diana went too far and started converting a pacifist Visitor icon, Jacob. After Donovan and Tyler rescued Jacob and he was killed while on the run from shock troops, Lydia had had enough and flies back to the Leader. Diana ordered that the mothership destroy Lydia’s shuttle. Lydia surprised Diana later on, by arriving with the new Supreme Commander Charles. It seemed that she had sent a decoy in her place and she took another shuttle. Upon Charles’ arrival, Lydia was made his adjutant and Diana was placed under her. Not too long after, due to Diana’s grudge, the Resistance is made aware of Lydia’s arrival on Earth. She was kidnapped by Donovan and Juliet Parrish and interrogated. Donovan tricked her into revealing Tyler’s location, allowing them to rescue him. A prisoner exchange was set up. Despite the whole event turning into a giant firefight, Lydia was able to escape with Charles and Diana. Not too long afterwards, Lydia set up an operation with Lt. James, a covert operations specialist. James and his men attacked Science Frontiers while dressed as Resistance members, framing them. She witnessed Charles’ plan to eliminate the resistance leaders unfold due to a daring raid from the Resistance and Donovan slips away from Charles. Lydia began to grow closer to Charles and was jealous that he seemed to be attracted to Diana. When he planned to marry Diana in order to send her home, Lydia was not happy but got over it since it would rid her of her rival. When Charles became slightly infatuated with Diana, Lydia was driven mad with jealousy. She decided to try to assassinate Diana on her wedding night by putting poison into her ceremonial cup. Diana sensed something wrong, and switched cups with Charles, and he was killed, which horrified Lydia. Diana had her arrested and put on a show trial to simply declare her guilty and set her up for execution. Philip, the Inspector General, showed up just in time to stop the execution. A new investigation pitted Diana and Lydia as the main suspects, forcing them to team up to frame someone else less they both be judged guilty. They frame the ship pharmacist, Marta and she is shipped off to space with Charles’ corpse. Soon afterwards, Diana came up with a scheme to rid herself of Philip and Lydia. She set Philip up to be assassinated by assigning her underling Angela to Philip’s expedition to kill Donovan. Diana proceeded to talk to Lydia, getting her to say that it was a great idea and that Philip would be out of the way and she would take over, while Diana was recording the conversation. Unfortunately for Diana, Angela fails, and it is all undone. Diana's next schemes involved bringing Lydia’s brother Nigel onto the ship before it was his time, right in time for the ship’s feast of Ramalon, which involved the sacrifice of the youngest serving officer. When Lydia figured it out, she would do almost anything as she appeals to both Philip and Diana. Philip told her that the only way to stop it was with a unanimous vote of the ship’s three line officers, himself, Lydia and Diana. Lydia went to Diana and asked her what she wanted. Diana offered her Nigel’s life for hers. During the feast of Ramalon, Philip halted the sacrifice accusing Diana of making unfounded accusations of him being in the Fifth Column. Philip declared that he would consider it mutiny unless Diana changed her vote and Nigel was saved. When the war ceased, Lydia welcomed the Resistance aboard and became friendly and civil with them.

  • Lydia was a Knight and tattoo artist of Monitor, a city on the Serpent Isle in Ultima VII Part Two. A member of the Bear Command, Lydia was a tattoo artist who had been taught her craft from her mother. Swirls of ink were tattooed all over her body. When Lydia was eight, her older sister, Selina, was taken by a "warlock" of Moonshade to be raised as a Mage. Lydia's mother was devastated at the lost and eventually died from the grief. Lydia passed the Knight's Test at age fifteen and quickly settled into her role as tattoo artist for Monitor. Her primary responsibility was to supply the tattoo for Knights who passed the test, depending on which Command they entered. Lydia was reunited with Selina years later. Selina had come to work for the sage Batlin, who was expecting the Avatar to pursue him from Britannia, and she came to Monitor and joyfully met her sister. Selina recruited Lydia to help her in assassinating the Avatar if the hero arrived. Selina then went to the Inn of the Sleeping Bull in case the Avatar did not come to Monitor. Lydia seduced Shmed, the administrator of the Knight's Test, to rig the test with magical traps and creatures should the Avatar attempt to pass it. The Avatar arrived in Monitor soon thereafter and, despite Shmed's traps, prevailed in the Test (Shmed was then killed when he personally tried to slay the Avatar). The unsuspecting Avatar came to Lydia for his Wolf tattoo. Lydia gave him the tattoo, but used the opportunity to poison the Avatar. Unfortunately for Lydia, the poison acted too slowly, and the Avatar was able to find a cure thanks to Delphynia of Fawn. Suspecting she had been the source of the poison, the Avatar immediately confronted Lydia, who denounced the Avatar as a servant of "Beast British." She pulled a poisoned dagger, but was quickly cut down by the Avatar.

  • Lydia is a frequent visitor at Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital that soon becomes emotionally attached to Gregory House. She has a husband whose sister is catatonic and hasn't said anything for years that is also at Mayfield. She was portrayed by Franka Potente. House heard Lydia playing the piano not long after being admitted and was drawn to her while avoiding the other patients and staff. She was playing to Silent Girl(Annie). House asked her how she got the key to the piano; she told him that they gave it to her, and that she visited often to play for her husband's sister as it was the only thing she reacted to in the form of swaying to the music. House informed Lydia that her head was not swaying to the music but to her pulse. A claim he would later take back, admitting that he hummed to Annie while Lydia was away. House found Lydia playing the piano again and wondered why she still played even though she got no response from Annie. Lydia told House that Annie was a master cellist and loved music before she became catatonic to which he suggested that since she played the cello that maybe Annie would respond better to that. During her next visit to Mayfield, House noticed Lydia unloading a large Cello case, smiling as he realized she had listened to his prior advice, he waits for her to reach his floor and engages her in playful conversation. House convinced Lydia to ask Steve/Freedom Master to help bring the Cello from her car to improve his depressed state. While letting Steve regain his confidence, House asked her if they could go for a drive. While driving, House convinced her to let him borrow her car, technically stealing it. In part to get away from Mayfield as he longed to do, but more importantly to help Steve regain his old identity as Freedom Master, which Lydia recognized as an act of a good heart, implying she trusted House despite barely knowing him. While initially House's plan was a success, it lead to Steve's delusions getting the better of him causing him to jump off a parking garage resulting in serious injuries. House, caught completely unaware and faced with his guilt over the fact he was to blame for his compromised judgement, relented and started accepting treatment from Dr. Nolan. One of the more significant parts of the therapy was to attend a party at Mayfield intended to push House to reach out to strangers and hopefully show them who he really is. House ran into Lydia while avoiding the party goers, they hit it off as usual. She became a willing accomplice to House's scheme to have fun at the expense of total strangers, pretending to be married and forcing a random woman to admit something she didn't do . As the night died down they sat and began talking again, she confided in him that she only married her husband because she loved his sister, that they were best friends and she missed her deeply, feeling her brother was the only person who could relate to what she was going through at the time. She also helped to ease house's guilt over Freedom Master. As they said good night to each other , Lydia kissed House. House spent the whole day afterwards trying to figure out what the kiss meant. At her next visit to Mayfield he finally asked why she kissed him. To which she replied "How many reasons are there?" She said straightforwardly, that it was because she liked him, that it was a nice way of showing him that as he played the piano and playfully looked at her. Soon, after confronting the fact that she was married, he questioned her about the improbability of their relationship, he said that if they didn't stop, someone would get hurt, but if they stopped, someone would get hurt. Which Lydia could not find an appropriate answer to, only that it was just two people having fun, that she didn't want to think about anything else. Later that day, House found Lydia crying. He apologized for what he said but Lydia told him that it wasn't because of that, it was because she thought she was pathetic. She brought Annie's cello, as if she would be able to perform in the Mayfield talent show. Seeing an emotionally vulnerable Lydia faced with the hopelessness of her best friend's recovery, house gently coaxed her to her feet. Sharing an emotionally honest and raw moment, he embraced her as they swayed in each others arms for a while. Caught up in the moment and their feelings for each other, they ended up having sex that night, resulting in an uncharacteristically raw and emotionally vulnerable House. After the Talent show, House finally worked up the courage to apologize to Steve for what he did. After making his peace, he moved his wheelchair towards the orderlies to line up for their medicine. House noticed the catatonic Steve reacting to Annie when they passed by, he returned Annie's music box to her as house had theorized and she said thank you, which was the first thing she had said in years. Lydia would come in later that day, greeted by House who proudly exclaimed he had a surprise for her, leading her into the main room where her friend was playing the Cello for the Mayfield staff and it's patients. Lydia could not believe what she was seeing and was overwhelmed with happiness. Not long after, Annie was cleared to leave Mayfield for good, much to House's dismay when he discovers she's being moved to a rehab facility in Arizona, and her family (including Lydia) was moving with her. Dr. Nolan told House the news when he stormed in to protest having only just found out himself. He asked for an overnight pass and went to see Lydia. Lydia told him that her husband was in Arizona a lot for work purposes but they had been anchored in New Jersey due to Annie needing to stay in Mayfield and now that she was better, they were free to leave. House, painfully honest, said he didn't want her to leave, that he didn't want things to change. She just as honestly replied that she did not want to, but she couldn't break up her family just to be with House. Lydia apologized for not giving him a proper goodbye as she caressed his face one last time, saying she thought it ended kind of perfect. House would later seek Dr. Nolan out. Able to admit that he was lost after their goodbye. To which he points out that he has reason to hope, because he connected with another human being enough to miss them, and was able to face his loss honestly.
