  • House Basiri was one of the Houses of Dahab which became more important in the prosperous city of Medinaat al-Salaam. In the 9th century its leader was the Merchant King Aqil al-Basiri. One of his members, Hadi Talibah, became famous as father of the nefarious immortal Caliph Hanan Talibah. It was the second in size and it was the only one allowed to collect the taxes, as edicted by the Immortal Caliph Hanan Talibah in the 10th century. Staunchest allies of Haroun al-Daqiq, House Basiri was allied with the House Menjari and were the law makers.
