Simon, though, couldn't duplicate that success later in the year at Daytona, finishing 35th after crash damage. Simon's final race wasn't too hot either, competing at Daytona. On the bright spot, Simon did make the prestigious Daytona 500, but midrace engine failure left Simon with a hoo-hum 31st place finish.
