Upon seeing the robot, Sonic burst into a fit of laughter, calling Croctobot the "lamest—badnik—ever!" When Sonic pulled himself together, he was able to knock Croctobot out with a single Sonic Spin to the Crocbot-head.

Croctobot accused Shadow of not helping him (Shadow having attended Sonic's birthday to thank him for previously saving Hope Kintobor's life), saying that he would report Shadow as a traitor to Robotnik, but Shadow responded simply "No. You won't." The three hedgehogs teamed up and ripped Croctobot apart with a succession of Spin Dashes, leaving nothing but scrap.
