  • A Custom Game is a customizable gametype in all of the Bungie and 343 Industries Halo games. There are many different custom game types available, although the player is encouraged by Bungie to make their own and to be more experienced over time. This can be done whether on local play, Cooperative Play, or on Xbox Live.
  • Custom Game mode was retired on 28 February, 2017 and succeeded by Game Browser, which was added in Arcade.
  • Custom games can be used to set up pre-arranged matches with and against other chosen players. In the lobby, after selecting a battleground, all players will be placed on a new lobby screen which will allow the lobby host to add and remove human or A.I. players, and organize observers and teams much more easily. Once the teams have been set up, the host can then hit the "start game" button to enter hero selection.
