He is co-founder of Mantis Productions along with Roger S.H. Schulman, co-creater of JONAS. In 2009 Curtis earned a PhD. in Religion from the Universal Life Church. Others awards include two "Emmy Award" nominations for "Friends" (Outstanding Comedy Series) and "JONAS" (Outstanding Children's Program), a "Teen Choice Award" for "Breakout Comedy Series" ("JONAS"), a "People's Choice Award" for "Friends" and "Most Books Read" (5th Grade) at White Point Elementary School. He was also voted "Mom's Favorite" -- (1962-64, 1973, 1980-85, and 1997).
