  • But in real life flight in typical western Dragons seems higly unlikely. This is mainly because of two reasons: * Dragons are vertebrates, and as such, they cannot have four legs and two wings, therefore six limbs * Usually, dragons are portrayed as very big, and animals that big couldn't fly Let's look at these characteristics in detail:

The most interesting sets of this theme were 6399 Airport Shuttle, which was one of only a few sets that made use of monorail tracks, 6346 Shuttle Launching Crew, which included a space shuttle and 6597 Century Skyway, which many people consider the best LEGO airport released to date.

  • Flight is a launch game where you throw a paper plane as far as you can. The background story is simple, but really sweet. The paper airplane is made from a letter to Santa Clause. The letter is from a little girl whose only Christmas wish is to see her mother again. The paper airplane does not quite make it to the North Pole on the first throw, but goes from person to person until it reaches its goal. __TOC__
  • Us humans have attempted to fly since we have been mere protozoa (well, us “future humans who are currently in the form of protozoa but just wait a few million years and then we will kick your ass”). Now, from our in-depth readings of The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, we know that all you have to do to fly with no support is to chuck yourself at the ground and hope you miss. After breaking my pelvis, I am beginning to doubt this theory- although some people could just be laughing at me because I still haven't mastered it, yet. Flight is 89%fun and 11% impossible.
  • Traveling through the atmosphere. But you knew that; you're a Skyrate! The vast majority of travel in Skytopia is via plane or airship. Flight in Skyrates is simple. All you need to do is plot a destination and go.

Also see: Gliding The first areas you're able to fly in are Altgard Fortress (Asmodian) and Verteron Citadel (Elyos).

A maximum speed of flight is not known, but Nathan has been often seen to fly at supersonic speeds, though it is also possible to fly more slowly or to just levitate with the ability. The ability also seems to protect against any ill-effects of flying, such as low temperatures, air pressure and resistance. It is possible to carry others while flying, but this is limited to the strength of the flyer. The individual seems immune to gravity while flying, and therefore cannot be controlled or forced to land by using gravity manipulation. However, Kokone will not be able to fly when she has increased her size using her growth manipulation.

  • Flight, more commonly referred to as flying, is the ability to defy gravity and propel oneself through the air at tremendous speeds and heights. Self-propelled flight is by far the fastest way to fly to one's desired destination without having to teleport all the way there. This power is superior to all other gravity defying powers; as such it automatically grants the user access to several other abilities: Levitation, Hovering, Floating and Rising.

It is a power so closely associated with the genre, that it is rarely given as a singular power, instead availing itself to be attached to another power, such as those of Scotch Bonnet and Suravi. No character in Pride High attains this power solely.

  • Everyone is familiar with the feeling. At one point or another, during some point in your life, you have felt it. You stepped out of the comfort of your bed, down the dark hallway—possibly turning on a light or two on your way—to grab a cup of water from the kitchen or use the facilities. Perhaps you’re at a friend’s house, or your parents', but the situation always comes back to the same thing. … Though I’ll tell you now, you weren’t thorough enough. So as you finally close your eyes, your breathing slows, and your muscles relax, you may hear a little laugh.
  • Flight is one of the most useful abilities in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, and probably the most exciting and anticipated for a new player (especially for Kazooie when she first learns how to fly). Bottles teaches Banjo and Kazooie how to fly atop The Salty Hippo in Treasure Trove Cove. The ability to fly has many obvious advantages, such as being able to reach high-up places or soaring over obstacles on the ground.

Furthermore, the unit's movement allowance is increased to a minimum of File:Icon Movement Air.png, and its scouting range to a minimum of 2. Flight must then be maintained with an Upkeep Cost of File:Icon Mana.png per turn.
  • Flight, also referred to as Human Flight Potential is the ability to defy gravity in order to propel oneself through the air. One with this ability can accomplish it in one of multiple ways. Others include the use of magnetic, gravitational or sonic repulsion, riding air waves, riding light waves, projection of an energy Aura, the presence of physical wings and the like. This ability may be accompanied by Jet Propulsion or some other aerial faculty.
  • Flight is the process where an individual, usually a human, digs him or herself to the centre of the universe. This is by no means easy as the centre of the universe is infact located 1.618 miles due east from Sturgeon Bay, a peaceful little hamlet in central Mongolia. One you clever ones reading this will realise that this number is in fact Silvester Stallone's Orginal Number of Bullets Fired Per Frame times Number of Rocky Rounds Per Film all divided by the Great Population of Little Swindlespoke of Northern Ulrik-a land that exists under Madagasgar. This equation is represented by .

While most mages are capable of limited levitation, actual aerial maneuverability is a rare skill in modern Mid-Childa and related worlds, despite how commonplace it is in the first two seasons. In fact, Nanoha Takamachi, the protagonist of the series, is one of the most capable Aerial Mages (as well as one of the most powerful mages overall) in the setting, evident in her position as a successful and popular Aerial Instructor of TSAB in StrikerS.

  • Upon casting this spell, the caster is endowed with magical flight. The character can immediately fly 48 yards in any direction desired, but cannot fly through walls or solid objects. A character may continue to fly by spending 3 magic points per round, but may not cast any other spells while doing so. Characters can carry up to half their normal, non-penalty encumbrance while flying. If any more is carried, the spell fails to work.
You stop as you exit the room you’re in, and suddenly feel terrible about having just turned off those lights behind you. The first few steps you took were filled with confidence, just a simple stroll in your nice safe surroundings to get back to your room and settle in again, but now things aren’t so simple. You play it cool at first, fighting to stay calm and collected, but it never lasts. You hear a sound, a thud in your home that seems to come from all directions, and your instinct kicks in. You’ve seen nothing, felt nothing, and what you’ve heard could be entirely in your head, but none of that matters. You pick up the pace, trying to act cool even still while you tread the thin line between a walk and a jog, hurrying down your hall or up the stairs. You don’t even bother turning the lights off; it would only slow you down. As briskly as you can, you get into your room and shut the door as quickly as you can behind you. As you turn your body to shut the door, your mind fills with macabre images of what you may meet. Things with no face, and long arms, standing at your door complacent about chasing you. A face with no eyelids, and a smile that runs from ear to ear. Even a ludicrous little statue from a game of your childhood, looking at you with soulless eyes and an empty grin. But… there’s never anything there. Just the darkness of the house, which lingers just as menacingly as before when you were trapped within it. You shut the door and lock it if you can. You may curl into bed and spend the next fifteen minutes just… laying there, hoping you hadn’t accidentally let anything in, or you may check every nook and cranny of your room to ensure that nothing did get in. You climb into bed, possibly after a cursory glance around your room with light on to make sure nothing was… there. You knew there wouldn’t be, but better safe than sorry. With that completed, you climb into bed and slowly relax, trying to drift off. Yet, it’s hard to close your eyes for longer than a minute or two without whatever scary you expected to find at your door popping into your mind, taunting you and keeping you conscious. You tell yourself it’s nothing, and shift your position ever so slightly so you can face the door. Just so you’re ready for whatever tries to come through it. You sit and rest, barely content but ready for sleep after the ordeal. You may drift off, you may not, but the next unpleasant bump in the night comes either way. A knock on your door it seems, or a whisper. You open your eyes, startled by the sound, but simply blame it on the window. … And now, the worst realization of all… you have a window. You’ve turned yourself to face the door, but the window still looms over you, out of your direct eyesight. You tell yourself it’s silly. You tell yourself to go back to sleep. But now, you feel the eyes of something watching you. Maybe from the street if you’re lucky, though with your life this evening it’d likely be right up against the glass. It wants to see your fear before it breaks the glass and kills you. It wants you to regret ever turning around. You sit in bed, paralyzed in decisions and fear, not knowing whether you should look out the window or not. Maybe whatever you feel watching you is just trying to find someone to hurt, to see if you’re still there, and if you lay still enough it’ll go away. Maybe it’s out in the street and it won’t see you if you just keep your head down. Of course, this act doesn’t last long at all. You see the shadows moving against the opposing wall, taunting you. You still feel it watching you, maybe even getting closer. If you can see it, maybe you can at least know what’s coming, or defend yourself. You say a prayer and a wish, sitting up and looking out that dreaded window to the rest of the world. The street is as empty as you expected it. You turn your head back to your room, seeing nothing again, and then back out to the street. A cool breeze drifts across your face, and you calm down. No more noises, and you can see the branches of your neighbor’s tree moving back in forth in front of their porchlight, the looming shadows making a lot more sense to you now. You turn the light on one more time, just to make sure you did in fact lock the door, and then slide in to the covers. You have done it, worked yourself up over nothing at all and lost anywhere from fifteen to thirty minutes of sleep, possibly even more. But it’s over with, and you can’t help but feel a sense of victory as you fall asleep, still alive and breathing. That’s the end of it for you, until next time. Though, you can’t help but wonder as you drift wistfully to sleep… “What caused all of that? Why did my gut feeling so vehemently insist that I run away in my own house? My gut never lies… “Oh well,” you mutter. You’ve made it. At the very least, you’ve made it. There were no evil men out to get you, no spirits or demons, no Creepypasta tropes, just the darkness of night and your imagination. Though I’ll tell you now, you weren’t thorough enough. So as you finally close your eyes, your breathing slows, and your muscles relax, you may hear a little laugh. You almost got it this time, but almost isn’t good enough. I’m a VERY good hider. As your breathing slows and your mind wanders, I’ll quietly slip in to your room, smile, and whisper a message just for you. "You’re such a beautiful thing when you’re sleeping. I can't wait for our next date."

The last new sets of Flight were introtroduced in 1996. Most of the sets contained smaller aircraft. The most interesting sets of this theme were 6399 Airport Shuttle, which was one of only a few sets that made use of monorail tracks, 6346 Shuttle Launching Crew, which included a space shuttle and 6597 Century Skyway, which many people consider the best LEGO airport released to date.

  • Flight is an Uncommon Unit Enchantment belonging to the File:Icon Sorcery.png realm. For File:Icon Mana.png it may be cast on a unit on the overland map to allow it to Fly. This affects movement costs across the overland map, and prevents most non-Flying units from attacking it in Melee combat. Furthermore, the unit's movement allowance is increased to a minimum of File:Icon Movement Air.png, and its scouting range to a minimum of 2. Flight must then be maintained with an Upkeep Cost of File:Icon Mana.png per turn. Alternatively, a cheaper version of the same spell may be cast for File:Icon Mana.png during combat, in which case it will temporarily bestow the same bonus on a unit for the duration of the battle (with no permanent effects or upkeep costs).

Most individuals undertaking this feat use what is known as a "toothpick" as over centuries mankind has learned through its great philosophers Mary Poppins and Mick Jagger that this "toothpick" is the most effective tool against not only the perils of deep space travel but the Dark Lord Himself, Tom Jones of the Province Wales. Tom Jones, or The Great Flying Monkey of Pontypridd, as he prefers is one of the main challanges to face those daring enough to try to fly themselves using the "toothpick by digging" method. This is of course only when completed one defeats Bowser on level 20 but that is another story. In short only the exceedingly brave, adventurous and daring and occasionally sheer bloody minded humans (or butterflies) undergo this monumental feat as there are many perils along the way, one of which, and possibly the worst, is eating cabbage through your nose whilst listening to the sound of elephants engaging in certain pleasures. Not really about the elephant bit but the cabbage part is true. Disgusting I know.
  • Once you have your wings they will play a key role while adventuring Atreia. You can travel faster, reach certain locations that are only available by flight, Extract Aether, and partake in aerial combat. The ability to fly relies on Aether, and because of this in some areas you cannot fly. These areas are known as no-fly zones, however you are still able to glide in those areas. Also see: Gliding The first areas you're able to fly in are Altgard Fortress (Asmodian) and Verteron Citadel (Elyos).

  • Flight, also referred to as Human Flight Potential is the ability to defy gravity in order to propel oneself through the air. One with this ability can accomplish it in one of multiple ways. Either their body projects an electromagnetic aura around them, which repulses the user from the ground and allows propulsion from one point to another. Others include the use of magnetic, gravitational or sonic repulsion, riding air waves, riding light waves, projection of an energy Aura, the presence of physical wings and the like. This ability may be accompanied by Jet Propulsion or some other aerial faculty. Fliers often possess the adaptation known as Aerial Adaptations, which allow them to survive the pressurized winds, heat created by supersonic flight, difficulty to see at high speeds, ability to breathe in low-oxygen levels of the atmosphere, among others.

  • The ability allows the user to fly in the air.

  • Flight is a magical ability in the Nanoha universe. Most mages, especially in the TSAB Ground Forces, do not possess the skills necessary for efficient unassisted flight and have to rely on machinery (e.g. Vice Granscenic's Storm Raider helicopter; Erio Mondial's Strada thrusters) or alternative magic (Subaru Nakajima's Wing Road spell; Caro Ru Lushe's summoned dragon Friedrich) for aerial transporation and combat. Personal flight is illegal over populated areas of Mid-Childa, due to the danger of mid-air collision with aircraft.

In order to fly, simply stand on a Flight Pad and press Image:A button (N64).png to take off. Once in the air, use the Image:Control Stick (N64).png to steer left and right, as well as dive (by tilting the stick up) and slow down to land (by tilting the stick down); Image:R button (N64).png may be held to make sharper turns. In order to gain altitude, just press Image:A button (N64).png, although a Red Feather will be used each time this is done. The Beak Buster can be used while flying by pressing Image:Z button (N64).png, either as an attack or as a quick landing, but use with caution, as the pair will take damage if this is done from too high. In addition, the Beak Bomb, an aerial missile-like attack which can be learned in Freezeezy Peak, can be used by pressing Image:B button (N64).png, although this also costs a Red Feather for each use. In Banjo-Tooie, Jamjars teaches Kazooie how to shoot eggs while in flight with Image:C up button (N64).png and Image:Z button (N64).png. Other than this small change, flying remains virtually identical and every bit as useful as in Banjo-Kazooie, though now it is possible to fly in first-person mode even prior to learning Airborne Egg Aiming.

  • There are both normal and mythical characters in mainstream Smurfs media that are given the ability of flight, some of whom are used by the Smurfs or by other characters. A Smurf in the comic book story "The Flying Smurf" tried to achieve this by creating a potion that would make him lighter than air, but found out that he couldn't control this ability and required the Smurfs to pull him down with rope and feed him bricks until he was heavy enough to stay grounded. Brainy in the cartoon show episode "Supersmurf" temporarily achieved the ability of flight when he used Papa Smurf's magic spell that also gave him super-strength

  • Flight is the ability to resist the pull of a planet's gravity and navigate through either outer space or a planetary atmosphere. Some characters possess this ability naturally, either as a function of their race, or because of some genetic abnormality, such as in the case of Metahumans. Other characters require external sources in order to fly. Members of the Green Lantern Corps for example, can fly through the use of their Power rings. Likewise, members of the Legion of Super-Heroes can fly through the use of their Legion Flight Rings. Some characters, such as Thanagarians, can fly by way of anti-gravity Nth Metal wing harnesses.

  • Flight is the Ability to lift off the ground, to ride air currents or to fly self-propelled through the air. This ability is attained through different means.
  • Individuals who possess the ability to fly do so through various different means, such as gravity manipulation, manipulation of certain elements, mystical means, divine empowerment, etc. Most users of this power use this ability for transporting themselves, but also can use it to transport others as well. As far as flight is concerned, most users of this ability are capable of going to extraordinary heights, even going as far as flying in space, however the limitation with this is that not all users can accomplish such a feat. Flight also maybe limited in terms of speed, which means one may not be able to move at superhuman speeds. Some people who possess this power may need to properly develop or flex their manipulative muscles before mastering flight, which means that they may need a certain amount of time to develop the ability. Gravity also plays a key role in the use of flight and some users may not have the ability of flight in certain environments. This means that if the gravity is more, the user may have trouble defying gravity than they normally do. Certain weapons like a gravity gun are capable of making a certain individual more heavy than they normally are and make it harder for them to get off the ground.
  • File:Quake3.png Image:Flight.png In Quake 3, Flight is a multiplayer-only powerup that allows you to fly around a level for 60 seconds. Player can float in the air for 60 seconds and manage their height with jump and crouch buttons. In Quake Live, Flight is changed to be a usable pickup item, which propels the player up high for a limited time when use item button is held down. Works like a jetpack instead of a permanent flight, with this way Flight can be used to be more unpredictable as you can change direction at mid-air pretty easily. Within the last patches Flight power-up is added to some new maps of Quake Live.

It is a power so closely associated with the genre, that it is rarely given as a singular power, instead availing itself to be attached to another power, such as those of Scotch Bonnet and Suravi. No character in Pride High attains this power solely.
  • Flight was a Mastery 1 air spell which granted the target the ability of Flight.
