  • The Evil Weevil was a car that debuted in the 1971 Hot Wheels Spoilers Series. It is based on a Volkswagen Type 1 (also known as "Bug" or "Beetle", or in Germany "Käfer") with two high-power V8 engines. All original Spectraflame colours can be found with both white and dark interiors, with white interiors tending to be more desireable. Like other Spoilers, it was packaged with a pre-applied door sticker with a number of 1 through to 9, although some have been found with a missing sticker still in the package. It also came packaged with an sheet of additional stickers that the owner can apply, and either a metal or plastic 'Collectors Button'. All Evil Weevils have medium 'Capped' wheels in the front and large 'Capped' wheels in the rear and all came with blue tinted glass. Blue Evil Weevils are by far the most common with purple and magenta being the most hardest to find, and with aqua also being uncommon. In 2004, the Evil Weevil was retooled for the HWC Neo Classics Series and has been used multiple times since. This casting is not to be confused with the Eevil Weevil, a 1986 casting of similar name.
