A large number of members, however, had been moved to an uncharted land and used to build colonies. During the construction, a few of the Kokudo had found the secrets of using chakra and performing ninjutsu in the scrolls that they were tasked with storing. These few members then taught the rest of the clan and soon an uprising occurred, the superior number of persons being a boon for the Kokudo. Having killed/driven out their enslavers, the Kokudo proceeded to establish their own independence as a people and thus named their land, the Land of Freedom after their self-liberation of bondage.
