  • The dermal regenerator is a medical device used to heal damaged skin tissue by emitting a controlled dose of radiation, and can be used for everything from removing slight cosmetic blemishes to healing severe burns. There are several different models of dermal regenerators, but the most common unit used by Starfleet is a simply-designed unit with a hammer-shaped head with a pistol grip. No special training is required to use a Dermal Regenerator, and as a result, its use is widespread. Joseph Sisko keeps one in his restaurant in case of cooking burns.

abstract
  • The dermal regenerator is a medical device used to heal damaged skin tissue by emitting a controlled dose of radiation, and can be used for everything from removing slight cosmetic blemishes to healing severe burns. There are several different models of dermal regenerators, but the most common unit used by Starfleet is a simply-designed unit with a hammer-shaped head with a pistol grip. Operation: the dermal regenerator is activated by thumb switch on the pistol grip, just behind the head. The square beam emitter glows when in operation, and should be held between 2cm and 10cm from the damaged skin. Its wide flexibility ensures it can remove branded scars, surgical incisions, puncture wounds, and even second-degree plasma burns. A different model of Dermal Regenerator is used aboard USS Voyager NCC-74656; it has a stubby cone shape, and is activated by a contact switch on the bottom of the unit. No special training is required to use a Dermal Regenerator, and as a result, its use is widespread. Joseph Sisko keeps one in his restaurant in case of cooking burns. Last Unicorn Games Stats: the plus in using a dermal regenerator is dependent upon a character’s Personal Equipment (Dermal Regenerator) X, Y skill. It would be unusual for anyone, even a medical officer, to specialize in this common unit; therefore, the “X” or general Personal Equipment score, would be added to the dice roll.
