In 1 ABY, members of the Cult of Exar Kun traveled to the outpost, to recruit some of the researchers and students to their ranks. One researcher refused, as he claimed that they were being forced to join against their will, so the cultists killed him. After the University lost contact with the outpost, Professor Cornelius Wagglehorn hired a spacer to go and find out what had happened. The spacer found the outpost deserted, but learned the truth of what had happened from the dead researcher's datapad.
