When Order 66 was issued, Rex did not follow it, and took some of his men and left the army. Rex and his men eventually parted ways, and Rex left on a hunt to find Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka: "Rex, is it really you?" Rex: "You know it, little 'un." A series of grueling trials led to Rex's eventual discovery of Tano, but not after a run-in with Commander Cody himself.
