The reboot stars Dianna Agron as the titular vampire killer Buffy Summers, Leonardo DiCaprio as the evil bleach blonde vampire Spike, Benjamin Ayres as the soul conscious vampire titled Angel, High School Musical-Sucker Punch well known Vanessa Hudgens as the popular somewhat airheaded Cordelia Chase, Dennis Quaid as the weary Watcher Guardian/Passionate Librarian Rupert Giles, Ed Westwick as the dorky yearning bestfriend Alexander "Xander" Harris, Elena Satine as the Witch Computer Genius Bestfriend Willow "Will" Rosenberg, Blake Lively in the role of the Cordette Second Lieutennant/ Cordelia Bestfriend Harmony Kendall, Christine Baranski as Buffy's doting mother Joyce whom is hiding a severe medical condition and Liam Neeson as the primary antagonist evil vampire Lothos whom is commanding a bad legion of bloodsuckers opposing another bad legion of bloodsuckers locked in a deadly battlefront for the souls of a small Californian Town. The film was shot in the long time production period between 2009-2010-2011 finishing in the spring of 2011. It was shot in primarily in Acton, California, Aspect Areas of Bellflower Los Angeles, Condon Oregon and Pasadena California. The film features a prominent appearence from High School Musical Hollywood Teen Star Zac Efron whom portrays an antagonist Werewolf Character in the film. Goyer in writing for the film wished to have a prominent male teen star taking up the role as a werewolf villain character and upon broadcasting the idea to the cast and crew was immediatley approached by already Cordelia Chase cast actress Vanessa Hudgens whom suggested Zac as told of his great interest in the television series and suggested as she had prominently worked with him on the High School Musical Series playing the two leads.
