- Colonel (later General) Lev Kravchenko is a prominent Soviet military officer and the secondary antagonist in Call of Duty: Black Ops. He returned as the secondary antagonist in the 1980's storyline of Black Ops II. He is the right hand man (often refered to as the "lapdog") of General Nikita Dragovich and he is the reason why the SOG was deployed to Vietnam. It was through Kravchenko that the Viet Cong became allies of the Soviets. He was also known to have personally taking Alex Mason prisoner two times in the whole game. Kravchenko is cold-hearted and highly sadistic person and he can be considered to be one of the most violent and evil characters in the whole Call of Duty franchise.

Ein Gerücht aus seinem Dorf außerhalb von Leningrad erzählt von Kravchenko's Verstümmelung und Mord an seiner Schwester Irina, dieses Gerücht gefiel Dragovich. Dieser Akt der Loyalität, wie das Gerücht geht, führte direkt zu seiner Provision als Offizier unter dem Kommando Dragovich's. Ähnlich wie Dragovich, verabscheut Kravchenko Viktor Reznov. Seine Gründe sind jedoch viel mehr als die des banalen Dragovich: Kravchenko gibt seine Führung nur in die Hände seines Generals. Kravchenko ist ein Mann, der führ den Krieg gebaut ist. Er ist ein rücksichtsloser und unmoralischer Offizier und sein "Blutdurst" muss "gestillt" werden.. Er ist aggressiv und ungeduldig, aber nicht rachsüchtig. Er will nicht die Vergangenheit sondern seine nächste Aktion sehen, und deshalb wird er immer eine Kriegswaffe bleiben. Kravchenko genießt das Leid der Anderen, es ist eines der wenigen Dinge, die so etwas wie ein menschliches Gefühl in seinem inneren anregen kann. Kravchenko wird in Payback "getötet", als Woods Kravchenko ein Messer in den Rücken rammt, bevor er Mason töten kann. In seinem letzten Atemzug sagt Kravchenko "Du wirst mit mir sterben!". Er zieht an einer Schnur, um alle Granaten an seinem Anzug zu zünden. Schnell denkend, greift Woods Kravchenko und springt aus dem Fenster seines Büros, offenbar opfert er sich um Mason zu retten. Eine riesige Explosion ertönt und der Spieler sollte davon ausgehen, dass Woods und Kravchenko tot sind. Allerdings überlebt Woods, da die Granaten unter dem Flug abflogen und somit nur beide verletzten. Später taucht er in Call of Duty: Black Ops II wieder auf. Er kommt in der Mission Alte Wunden vor, inder er in Afghanistan einen Angriff gegen die Rebellen startet. Nachdem er von Woods und Mason überwältigt wurde, wurde er an einem Stuhl gefesselt. Masons innere Stimme "zwingte" ihn Kravchenko zu töten. Der Spieler kann hier entscheiden ob er sich wehrt oder sein Befehl folgt. Wenn er sich wehrt, erschießt Woods ihm zum Schluss und es kommt zum gleichen Ende.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, it is revealed that Kravchenko survived his encounter with Frank Woods, despite being stabbed, and has become an associate of Raul Menendez by selling weapons for money. In 1986 when Alex Mason, Frank Woods and Jason Hudson assisted the Mujahideen in fighting the Soviets invading Afghanistan Alex gets involved to a short fist fight with Kravchenko once again who is riding a tank but Mason wins due to Kravchenko's advanced age slowing him down. Mason and Woods capture Kravchenko and tie him up for interrogation for information about Menendez. If the player resists the number commands in his head and doesn't shoot Kravchenko, he will reveal vital information about a possible mole working for Menendez. After this, Woods shoots Kravchenko in the head, killing him for good.
