Her father was a former Imperial Intelligence agent and during the Conquest of Makeb Captain Hanthor of the Sith Empire was forced to send a retrieval team for Tyvar and his family, relocating them to Dromund Kaas.
- Syla (55 BBY) is a Lin mercenary and former member of the Linshi Monks. She left their order after becoming fed up with the longstanding policy of the monks to never start a fight. Feeling that such an attitude was unrealistic, she left the borders of Lin’La’Se and began to hire herself out as a gun for hire. Despite her noted skills in gunplay thanks to her mastery of Mokurai-tsu, she tried to keep a low profile and was content to roam the galaxy without becoming too notorious. However, Syla’s travels eventually took her to the Laro Sector where she ended up being hired by the Laro Empire to assist them in the Laro Civil War. Her success against the enemies of the Laro Empire made her a target of the other two factions. Several attempts on her life were made, but none were successful. Towards the end of the war, she was captured by the Rolani Dominion after a failed Laro Empire assault on Akesa. After being declared an enemy of the Dominion, she was sent to die in a gladiatorial pit. Much to the surprise of the Rolani, Syla proved to be capable combatant even without her guns and quickly became a fan favorite in the pits. It was during this time that Syla got to know a fellow gladiator and former Rolani soldier, Akron Kro. The two ended up forming a relationship in spite of their circumstances and by a stroke of luck, never ended up fighting each other in the pit. Once the Laro Civil War was brought to an end by Jesika Doljian, Syla and many other prisoners of war were freed. She and Akron then decided to leave the Laro Sector and travel the galaxy together, once again becoming mercenaries for hire. They made a good living and a good team, playing to each other’s strengths and covering each other’s weaknesses. When the Xen’Chi War broke out, the pair initially stayed out of it, but decided to join the fight once they heard about Operation Bad Neighbor. The two ended up being selected out of the various mercenaries to be part of an elite team known as Squad 13…
