  • At Clumsy's house, the Smurflings are watching their klutzy friend as he stacks his rock collection. That goes well until Clumsy falls over the ladder -- thus all his rock collection comes toppling to the ground as well, but he doesn't seem to mind that as he comments that he had a lot of practice. Then Grandpa Smurf arrives, as Snappy asks where he got a stick from. Grandpa responds that it's made from purple pandyroot, which he got on his hike from Mountain Majestic. He then gives the stick to Clumsy, also telling him that it is his turn to lead the expedition. Clumsy is so excited that he couldn't wait to show it to the other Smurfs, also saying that nothing is going to stand in his way -- except having to trip over on his way out!

Later that day, as Clumsy and the Smurflings are preparing for their expedition, he bumps into Brainy who isn't pleased to see him. As Clumsy tells him that they are taking a hike at Mountain Majestic to collect some pandyroots for Papa Smurf's experiments, Brainy thinks he'd be happy to lead the expedition at first, but Sassette corrects him that it was actually Clumsy's turn to lead. Then Brainy changes his mind as he got other things to do, also saying to them he is all booked up as he trips over his stack of books. Next they go to see Painter, who is painting one of his masteurpiesa as usual. And as Painter is about to accept their offer to join the expedition, Clumsy knocks the painting out of the easel and it sticks onto Painter's face, who also changed his mind and wishes his friends to have a smurfy voyage. Soon as the other Smurfs heard that Clumsy is leading the expedition to Mountain Majestic, they all know that it will be a dangerous mission. And every time he comes to offer them to join, they all claim that they have stuff to take care off, which makes Clumsy feel lonely that no Smurf wants to go with him. But Sassette suggests that maybe Papa Smurf would know the way to deal with the other Smurfs. Later, Papa isn't happy with his Smurfs rejecting Clumsy's offer to join the expedition, but as Brainy comments that it could be impossible, Grandpa then suggests that both Brainy and Clumsy would race to the top of the mountain, collect the pandyroots, then return to the Smurf Village and win the race. While Papa picks Harmony, Painter, Jokey, and Greedy to be on Brainy's team, Grandpa chooses Nat, Snappy, Sassette, and Slouchy to be on Clumsy's team -- much to their delight and excitement. In no time at all, the race begins -- with Clumsy and the Smurflings having a late start after Brainy's team takes the lead. Later as Clumsy's team is hiking on the mountain, Jokey turns the sign in the opposite way to trick Clumsy. But soon it was almost foiled as Clumsy's team takes the right direction to the Mountain Majestic, thanks to the purple stick Clumsy is holding that spins the sign back in the right way, while Brainy thinks his team would win the race as they head off in a different way. It is night time as Brainy's team takes a break for their camping by the lake, where they argue over who has been slowing the team down with their stuff. On the other side of the lake, Sassette asks Clumsy if they would like to have a pillow fight, which makes the Smurflings jump for joy to have some fun. But Clumsy tells them that it's time to get some sleep, so that they get an early start in the morning, much to their disappointment. However, as Clumsy was about to get some sleep in his tent too, he trips over the Smurflings' tent, causing it to fall over. Slouchy suggests to Clumsy that it would have been easier for him to turn out the lantern. The following morning, Clumsy wakes Brainy up and tells him that he would like to share some purple pandyroot with him too. Brainy stammers as he is starting to realize that he and his team had been overslept, allowing Clumsy's team to win the race. However, as Clumsy's team goes around the corner of the mountain, they encounter a giant bolder blocking their way. Nat wonders how they could move the boulder out of the way, while Snappy suggests that they could climb over. But as soon as he said so, it starts to roll a little -- causing him to fall over, only into Clumsy's hands, who then tells him that it's not safe as they will have to hike around it. But while the Smurflings weren't very pleased of letting Brainy's team win the race, Clumsy tells them that getting home is much safer than winning the race any day. Meanwhile Brainy and his team goes in the same direction that Clumsy's team had gone in before, and they also encounter the boulder blocking their way. Brainy brags about victory as he climbs up to get through it, though Greedy is unsure about it as it is becoming unstable. But Brainy doesn't take notice, and tells his team that the boulder is as solid as a rock as they also climb on top of it. Unfortunately, he had spoken too soon as they are now rolling down the hill on a boulder, though while going back downhill for home, Clumsy and Snappy both spot the runaway boulder and set down after it. Soon the boulder stops at the very edge of the mountain section below, but as they were about to scream for help, Clumsy was about to slip down to save Brainy, but then he bumps into the boulder and both Brainy and his team are all in a great peril! Fortunately Clumsy found a cave and went on a rock hunt, much to Brainy's concerns. Then Clumsy came out with plenty of rocks, but despite the Smurflings' pleas to help Brainy's team, he had come up with a plan. And in no time, they were all stacking the rocks up to the bottom of the boulder, to prevent it from rolling down dangerously again. But soon they all run out of rocks, as the boulder hasn't been secured. As Clumsy tries to think hard while hitting his head with a stick, a glimmer of a possible solution came out of it! He tells the Smurflings that they all have to put some bags of purple pandyroot underneath the rock, as he knew that Grandpa comments that it is "as hard as a rock". Although despite their pleads for disapproval, they decide to do so anyway and the boulder has finally been secured. As Clumsy shouts out for Brainy and his team to come down, Brainy jumps down excitedly. But as he got piled up by his fellow smurfs, he comments that a leader has some heavy responsibilities. Back at the village, Papa Smurf declares Clumsy Smurf a winner for not only being a outstanding leader, but a resourceful rescuer for Brainy's team as well. And as he gave Clumsy a trophy for his honor, everyone cheers for him -- thus making him cry for joy as he comments that it was one of the smurfiest days of his life. Although Brainy objects that Clumsy should share a trophy with him, but as Clumsy was about to share it, he trips over and accidentally throws a trophy into Brainy's head! He uselessly struggles to get it off, as Grandpa chuckles and comments that Brainy has finally got his trophy after all.
