Due to its ever-changing composition, it can't be adapted to in any way and will last for a prolonged period of time before evaporating itself from the target's system. The scales allow light to bend around the user, providing excellent camouflage, while it also masks heat signatures, even going as far as keeping the user's life-force confined to the inside. This forbids even those capable of sensing life force from detecting the user. These heat-proof scales can emit vibrations capable of spontaneously combustion, immolating anything that comes into contact with them. It will then absorb the excess vibrations and even heat energy of other attacks back into the scales, increasing its defensive potential and capabilities in the process. They can also amplify sounds produced by the user, allowing them to vastly increase the potential of the famed and deadly Chimera Songs. If needed, the user can shed any part of the defense or the entirety of it from their body in a way similar to the Body Fluid Shedding Technique and the Orochimaru-Style Body Replacement Technique. Once this shedding occurs, the user is able to suddenly detonate the senjutsu enhanced defense by spontaneously weaponizing the natural energy within, leading to a extraordinary and quite dangerous explosion. Honami has stated that the full potential of the technique and it's true abilities have yet to be realized and utilized in combat, even by herself. This leads to the believe that all the above isn't all that is known or revealed about the technique and there is much more to it that revealed.
