  • Despite knowing that her humanity would be lost again, Kerrigan agreed to this. She allowed Zurvan to lead her to the first spawning pool where the zerg had first evolved. Against Abathur's advice, she entered the pool to begin her transformation. Before sealing herself within a chrysalis, she ordered her minions to defend her until she either emerged from the chrysalis or was dead. She hoped that in her new form, Amon would exert no influence over her mind. • Sarah Louise Kerrigan, Queen of Blades, is a major character and the predominant antagonist in Blizzard Entertainment's StarCraft series of video games and novels. The character was created by Chris Metzen and James Phinney, and her appearance was originally designed by Chris Metzen. Kerrigan is voiced by Glynnis Talken Campbell in the real-time strategy video game StarCraft and its expansion Brood War. Kerrigan originally appears in StarCraft as a twenty-six year old female Terran psychic, trained as an expert espionage agent and assassin both physically and mentally. Initially the second-in-command of the Sons of Korhal, a revolutionary movement headed by Arcturus Mengsk against an oppressive Confederacy of Man, she is captured by the insectoid Zerg and infested, turning her into a human/Zerg hybrid completely under the control of the Zerg hive mind. She becomes one of their most powerful agents and eventually seeks dominance over the galaxy. In the strategy games, Kerrigan's in-game unit changes to mimic her transformation. Kerrigan's life before her infestation is further explored in the novels Uprising and Liberty's Crusade while Queen of Blades elaborates on her infested character. As one of the major characters of the series, Kerrigan has been critically praised for her believability and character depth; she is ranked as one of the fifty greatest female video game characters ever by Tom's Games, and a survey by GameSpot put Kerrigan as the second best villain in video gaming.
  • Sarah Kerrigan is a Terran Ghost who becomes infested by the Zerg. She's on the box of the StarCraft expansion pack, Brood War and damn she looks pretty. In 2005 some people thought she would beat Vincent Valentine. Mr. T pitied the foo's. While her game is an incredibly powerful force that had great success in the Spring 2004 Contest AND became the national sport of South Korea, Kerrigan is one of the biggest jobbers in Contest history, being destroyed by everyone's favorite emo, Vincent Valentine and giving up over 58% of the vote to Terra Branford, whose match pic was as bad as hers (even after a legendary change ordered by CJayC himself). Aside from her amazing weakness, Kerrigan's greatest claim to fame was being one of the strongest proponents of The Pic Factor. Pre-2007 people often said, "With her Brood War box art, Kerrigan would have been far more recognizable and probably could have broken 25% on Vincent, or beaten Terra outright!" Unfortunately this theory was disproven in 2007, when Kerrigan DID get her BW box art and nevertheless managed to have one of the worst showings of the season, earning an X-stat value of only 14.22% in her match against Samus/Frog/Axel, a decrease from the 14.95% she earned in her pitiful loss to Vincent. Ouch!

Upon returning to her leviathan, Kerrigan was met by Dehaka, a primal zerg pack leader who wished to join her Swarm, pledging to serve her in exchange for new sources of essence. Kerrigan accepted Dehaka and his pack into the Swarm. Dehaka informed her that the other primal pack leaders would not submit to Kerrigan and thus, had to be eliminated. Although Yagdra, Kraith, Slivan and their respective packs fought viciously against Kerrigan's Swarm, they were ultimately no match for the reborn Queen of Blades. After collecting their essences, Kerrigan was confronted by Zurvan, who initially acclaimed her for her victory. He then turned on her, with the intention of consuming her essence; explaining that he had "no allegiance but to self". Kerrigan expected his challenge and killed Zurvan, thus fully claiming the power of all Zerus. With her mission on Zerus complete, Kerrigan ordered Izsha to prepare the leviathan to return to the Koprulu sector.
