  • "Alphabet Polka" is a Sesame Street song from season 17. Yosh Shmenge (John Candy) and Slimey performed the song, a polka version of the alphabet. Yosh played clarinet and Slimey played his tuba. The segment only aired once on the show, as writer Norman Stiles recalled: “The Workshop got complaints from Polish organizations complaining that we were making fun of their heritage, asking to have the segment pulled. Which ended up happening.” Though retired from the show prematurely, the song was used later in the 1989 Sesame Street Live show, Silly Dancing.
