| Biography | - Mel Larson is a former NASCAR driver from Phoenix, AZ. He competed in forty-seven Nextel Cup Series events in his career, racing part-time 1955 and 1978. Despite not being able to place well in points because of his limited schedule, Larson still garnered two poles and fourteen top-ten efforts. His best finish was a 2nd at Phoenix in 1960, one of the events he started on the pole.
