It then became the theme song of Mickey's theatrical cartoon series until 1933. It was also shown being played on a phonograph in the comic strip storyline "Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers". The song was later used as the theme for The Mouse Factory. A re-orchestrated instrumental version was used as the opening theme to Mickey Mouse Works.

Mickey sang the song again, with slightly modified lyrics, in the House of Mouse episode "Mickey and the Culture Clash", where he and Minnie referred to it as their song. An instrumental version of the song can heard in the Mickey Mouse episode "Eau de Minnie" and as Minnie was "la-laaing" to it while walking on her way to her date with Mickey. Also, in the episode "Bottle Shocked", the song can briefly be heard as a ringtone on Mickey's cell phone.
