Whilst Skipper was scouting around Redwall Abbey, he was wounded by one of the ferrets of Raventail before Marlfoxes and their allies attacked in the Abbey. Skipper nursed himself in the depths of Mossflower and went to get reinforcements. They arrived in Redwall during the final battle against Marlfoxes and were responsible for the throwing of the javelin that killed Vannan the Marlfox.
