  • The Turbografx controller resembles the NES Controller. It has a D-pad, A & B buttons, and start & select buttons. This is in contrast to the greater amount of buttons on the SNES controller and the Sega Genesis controller. The controller does feature two switches, however.
  • The TurboGrafx-16, known as PC-Engine in Japan, is a video game console first released in Japan by Nippon Electric Company (NEC) on October 30, 1987. The system was released in late August 1989 in North America. There was no official PAL version of the system, but a grey importer provided a very limited release in the United Kingdom and continental Europe in 1990 as Turbografx (not including the "16" in the title, and lowercase "g" in "grafx")
  • The Turbo-Grafx-16 was a game console released by NEC home electronics and Hudson Soft The only game reveiwed by the nerd on the turbografx is Darkwing Duck
  • Even though it was not very successful in the West, the TurboGrafx-16 (or the PC Engine) was very popular in Japan. It had many variations and add-ons, most notably the TurboGrafx CD. HuCard converters are somewhat hard to come by and can be expensive, so you'll definitely want to region mod so you can enjoy all of the many, many, different versions of games via region and region exclusive titles. Also this system is home to many, many beautiful games with beautiful soundtracks and very impressive specs for its time! If you like shoot 'em ups this is the system for you.

The TurboGrafx was succeeded by the SuperGrafx... well, at least that was the idea, but it was such a flop that it died out before the TurboGrafx.
