  • Unlike the other two Chinese Mythic Age minor gods, Xi Wangmu lacks an economical upgrade and focuses entirely on the offensive. Her Castles are stronger, allowing them to survive longer on the front line. Castle units also train faster, allowing players to overwhelm their enemies with more durable siege weapons, chariots and generals.
  • Xi Wangmu (Queen Mother of the West), or Seioubo in Japan, is an ancient Chinese goddess, also known in Japan and Korea. She had a human form with a leopard's tail, tiger's teeth and wore a jade tiara. She had three azure birds in her charge that tended to her needs by bringing her food and nourishment. In early Chinese mythology, she was the goddess of diseases, calamities and slaughter. She would later gain immortality and enlightenment through cultivating the Dao and became one of the highest deities worshiped in the Taoist pantheon. She took her throne on Mount Kunlun and became the goddess of immortality guarding the Taozi (Peaches of Immortality).

  • Xi Wangmu (onyomi: Sei'ōbo), often translated as "Queen Mother of the West", is a mythological figure who appears in several Chinese myths and legends. She is known as the holy mother to every immortal maiden and often praised for her captivating beauty. The other half of her character is capable of punishing with five devastating plagues. Her Dynasty Warriors incarnation has two egos. One is named Xi Wangmu and may also be referred to as Yang Hui (楊回, onyomi: Yōkai). The other evil counterpart is known as Huang Quan (黄泉, onyomi: Kōsen). For her English appearance in Saiyuki: Journey West, her divine name is Sei Obo and she is known as the Mother Guardian. She looks to be 25 years old.
Numerous rulers throughout China have legends and folklore attributed to them on how they went to her hoping to learn the secrets of immortality only to fail in the end. The most famous of which is King Mu of the Zhou Dynasty, whom she took in as a pupil and lover for a short period of time, but like all the others King Mu was unable to gain immortality. She would reach the height of her popularity during the Tang Dynasty where numerous cults centered around her sprung up and she became the subject of many literary works.
Xi Wangmu grants the White Tiger that can quickly make its way to an enemy town thanks to its high speed. They are especially useful for bypassing walls thanks to their ability to jump over them and their high hit points (which can be increased further) and armor allows them to withstand attacks from enemy fortifications while dealing massive damage. The same can be said for Xi Wangmu's God Power unit the Earth Dragon, which is most effective when used offensively as it is stationary and cannot chase after enemies. If placed next to an important enemy building, such as the Town Center, its gigantic amount of Hit Points almost guarantee it will destroy up to three enemy towns and survive while the opponent crumbles.
