  • The sun was slowly rising, as the dawn approached Amanogawa City. At the time of sunrise, two figures slept peacefully. "Unghh…" A certain figure yawned, as he slowly stood out of bed. They bore the appearance of a young, very feminine male with a petite and slender frame, much like a woman's, and light brown eyes. He had light pink hair which reached down to his waist, and was tied up in a simple braid, and had two bangs going down to his chin. This person was Zakura Terui, formerly Tsukasa Tsugami; someone who disregarded their past and looked only to the future. Quickly, he gazed back at where he was sleeping- moments ago, he felt a warm sensation around his arm. The person next to him was a highly effeminate male, whose features were almost completely feminine in appearance. He possessed wide hips, long legs, and droopy eyes as he slept peacefully. His blonde hair was worn in a bun which spiked up slightly at the top, gently flowing out to the left side, with several strands of hair sticking out at the sides of the bun as sort of waves. He wore a Lycrois flower on the right side of his hair. Zakura swore that Yuuki Kaburagi was using him as a hug pillow that entire night; he'd wake him up, but he looked so peaceful. Downstairs, whistling in the kitchen was yet another effiminate male, this one with pale skin, emerald eyes, and auburn hair tied in twintails. He wore a sweater, jeans, and a black apron. This was Isshōmaru Ureshii, and he was busying away at the stove, wearing another apron, white, over his clothes. On his hand was glinting a ruby red ring. He set a pot down on the stove and walked over to the stairs. He pulled out a megaphone from the closest. "YUUKI! ZAKURA! GET UP, TIME TO EAT! BESIDES, SOMEONE IS COMING OVER! LOOK PRESENTABLE!" Zakura clutched his head in exhaustion. What the hell happened? At least he wasn't getting migraines from his and Tsukasa's interactions anymore. Just, for some reason, he felt somewhat off-kilter. "G-Gimme a minute, Isshō!" Without waking Yuuki, the Plus rushed downstairs. Isshō smiled as Zakura walked down, and actually kissed him on the cheek before turning his attention to the stove, mentally glad Yuuki had still been sleeping. "So, Zakura, did I mention my husband is coming today?" He said it as lightly as if they were talking over drinks. Zakura froze up, though he appreciated such actions. "Oh..." He didn't seem dejected, but more confused. "...No, you didn't. Surprising, really, but I kinda wish you'd tell me that before. Or do you and Yuuki have a secret club. And I'm not invited." "No, no, nothing like that." Isshō replied. "When Yuuki recruited me to help, I didn't have much time to tell my husband I was going, so, he's been pretty concerned." He placed a spoon on Zakura's mouth, wiping some of the batter off onto his lips before licking it away. "Or about as concerned as he ever does get, bless him. So, I told him to come on out here. He's anxious to meet who I've been staying with." Zakura could imagine it now. Touma'd be getting his gun right about now. And truth be told, Touma was nearly as terrifying as Yuuki when he was pissed off. Nahhh. But still, it was close enough. "Touma will kill the heck out of him, y'know that? So, any precautions you've set up in case that happens?" "Hmmm..." Isshō thought about it. He reached for his Zanpakutō. "While I don't want to hurt Touma too much, I haven't even kissed the boy yet..." He muttered the release command to his Zanpakutō, along with something else, to transform into a replica of Gai Nagareboshi. "Would my transformations count as a decent precaution in a combat situation?" He asked in Gai's voice. "Well, no. Not when your foe can dragon kick your ass into the milky way." Zakura replied. Oh, how he loved playing God Hand. It was a cult classic game on the Playstation 2. "But I would take precaution, especially since Touma has unlocked his armour's second form. Just be careful, okay?" Isshō reverted back to his normal form. "I could just kiss him into submission." He suggested playfully. "I mean, I think he likes me, and I definitely like him. But then again, I also like you, Zakura. And I keep wondering why you don't do to me what you do to Yuuki in the bedroom so often." He sounded, surprisingly, dejected. "Am I not good enough?" Zakura inched back, eyes wide in shock. This certainly wasn't something you'd bring up normally! "W-Wha...?" He slumped forward. He would eventually; he didn't feel like it- lately, nor a while. To be perfectly honest, he loved Yuuki with all of his heart- he wouldn't forgoe such a relationship, in any case. "T-That's none of your business, I'm sorry..." Even when being asked such private questions, Zakura was so polite. Glancing over at what his friend was baking, he obiviously inquired, "Ooooh. Talk me what you're cooking." His eyes were bigger than his stomach, however. "Cinnamon Banana Pancakes." He replied, smiling beautifully. "Awai likes them, so, I'm hoping none of you are allergic to cinnamon...or banana." He giggled, his mind wandering off. Crap. He was allergic to cinnamon. Double-taking, Zakura stuttered, "Yeah, allergic to that, sorry." He couldn't help but think, that Isshou had become rather nonsensical since they had defeated Koumori. "This is what we call foresight." Isshō chuckled, pointing to the back of the range, where another pot of batter was simmering. "Cinnamon free. Are you allergic to banana?" He looked ready to pull regular pancake batter out of thin-air. Like magic. Zakura's eyes widened in shock. "...N-No..." But it was certain, Isshou possessed some sort of magical batter brewin' skill. With that sound at the door, Isshō almost spilled batter. "A-Awai! H-He's here! Zakura, get the door, I can't let this burn!" He ushered Zakura out of the kitchen and towards the door. As if not really aware of the consequences of what was about to happen, Zakura splashed himself in the face with a glass of water to make himself look awake and opened the door with a smile. Standing at the door was a tall, lean young man with neck-length silver hair. His attire was rather simple, consisting of a collared shirt and jeans. His most notable feature were his soulless, purple eyes. These eyes took in the appearance of Zakura Terui, and he let out a dry chuckle. "Hello. I am Awai Shirosaki. I was told Isshōmaru Ureshii was staying here?" His voice was almost bored, though, if one listened closely, there was the smallest hint of longing in it. Zakura inched back, extending his hand. Of course, he being horrible with names, had to blurt out, "And you are?" Awai shook the hand, and frowned. "I do apologize, but I am going to go off on a limb and assume your intelligence is less than average. I introduced myself not a minute ago. I am Awai Shirosaki." Zakura couldn't help but wonder, "Why doesn't he smile?" Without hesitation, Zakura pulled out laughing gas from god-knows-where before setting it off. Pity Awai wasn't there. In that small distraction, he'd slipped by Zakura. "Nice house." He murmured dryly. "I smell cinnamon. Am I to assume Isshō is in the kitchen?" "Why doesn't he find it funny?" Zakura's train of thought departed, as he shouted back, "...Yeah." He had to surprise this guy somehow. "I would appreciate it if you would cease efforts in trying to make me laugh." Awai replied, before walking into the kitchen. A small shriek was audible throughout the building, a shriek of delight. Yuuki must be a good sleeper. "Awai!" Isshō threw his arms around the white-haired man, who's face became a pale shade of pink. He always told Isshō never to greet him like this...not that he didn't enjoy it...not that he did enjoy it. Isshō drew Awai into a rather passionate kiss that lasted for a full three minutes. "I've missed you!" He said excitedly. Awai actually smiled. "I missed you too, out here on a mission for Hell know's what." Resigned to remain in the background, Zakura stood back while breakfast caught fire and he twirled his pink hair. Of course, that was an exaggeration, and the batter was perfectly fine when Isshō tore himself away from Awai to get back to cooking. "Are you the only other one here?" Awai asked, looking at Zakura. "Well, no." He was still irked that there was no housefire; despite that would ruin the day, to say the last. One could say, Zakura Terui was someone who enjoyed getting what he wanted, though he was never an ass about it. Gesturing to upstairs, Zakura mentioned, "She's still asleep. She honestly sleeps like a log these days." Zakura thought to himself, "She probably misses her children." "Then perhaps you should let her go see her children?" Awai suggested, having a sneaking suspicion that no one in this house was a 'she', but he strove away such thoughts for the moment. "I'm sure that she'd be pretty torn up about having to choose between me and her kids, but hm...I'll go and inform her." The snoring sound resounded louder throughout the air. "...Whenever she wakes up." Damn Yuuki and her heavy sleeping. Zakura guessed that this was the logical conclusion of attempting to stop drinking; and he was damn right to a point. Isshō chuckled as he began ladling batter into a skillet. "Awai, I'm rather preoccupied with this pot, I can't get to the other one that's on the back of the flame." Awai immediately moved to turn off the flame on the back of the range, before moving back. Isshō was very skilled in getting Awai to do what he wanted without really making any requests. "Alright, do what you want. I'm going to try and wake her." Zakura responded, before walking upstairs. Awai slid into a seat, kicking it back up, leaning against pure air. "So, tell me Isshō, do you like that boy?" Isshō deliberately delayed his answer, placing pancakes into a pile on a plate. "I would suppose I do. Is that going to be a problem?" He sounded nervous. While Isshō loved to flirt and make passes, and even have sex with others, Awai was still the one he loved with all his heart. Awai eyed the ring on Isshō's hand, the one he'd specifically chosen. "I'll let you do what makes you happy." Isshō smiled, and left the stove for a moment, wrapping his arms lovingly around Awai's neck. "You know it's you I love the most, right?" "Of course, otherwise I'd have killed every bit of competition I have." Isshō winced. He knew Awai was dead serious. "I do have a slight bit of a message for the boy when he comes down." Slowly trudging down the stairs, Zakura Terui slung a half-concious Yuuki Kaburagi across his shoulders. He didn't seem too particularly right, that was for sure. Awai looked at Yuuki, and recognition crossed his face. "Ahhh, I remember you." Isshō, still around Awai's neck, smile in Yuuki's direction. "Good morning Yuuki. Remember my husband?" Yuuki clutched his head in exhaustion and pain, as if there was a hootanany occuring in his head, and everyone was invited. Only, it generated into a massive brawl and hundreds of people died. Slowly glanced up, the Shinigami-Crimson Sovereign hybrid uttered, "...Y-Yeah. I think." "I'm going to place my money on a hangover." Awai murmured as Isshō to fix the pancakes for Zakura as well. "So you've sunk to drinking since we last met, Yuuki Kaburagi?" "O-Oi, that's none of your business, got t-that!?" Yuuki stuttered. It was certain, that he would prefer it if people stayed out of his personal life, lest they get a knife to the eye. "Let's just eat!" Isshō commanded, making them all sit at the table as he dished out pancakes. He brought and milk and syrup, and made sure everyone was sitting. The kitchen is Isshō, and in that castle, he is the Queen. Finally. Though he preferred Yuuki's cooking -he had to, or else Yuuki would probably shank him- at least forcing some good food into his systems was all Zakura really wanted this day and place. Though, as Yuuki kept a stern eye upon him, he was as carefuly as ever to not incite his wrath. "So, Yuuki." Awai spoke after taking a bite into his pancake, and nodding in approval over to Isshō, whose eyes lit with happiness at the appreciation. Not that Awai never appreciated Isshō's cooking, Isshō merely hadn't seen his face in awhile or had anything from Awai in awhile. "I'm curious, what did you need Isshō for? And why was it so important that I was not notified?" Yuuki stuttered with a growl, "Well, the Crimson Sovereigns were in large numbers back then- we needed an extra helping hand. I hope you didn't mind." He said all that with a mysterious smile. Awai frowned. "I cannot say I didn't mind." He said slowly, and turned to look at Isshō, and seemed to be inspecting him. "But you did keep him in one piece, so I cannot say I am not grateful. I'd be thoroughly miserable if he were to die." Yuuki clapped his hands as if not aware of the impact of what that would have upon Awai. "Well, he's okay right now, isn't he? So it doesn't matter." "True, but..." Awai's eyes narrowed as he looked at Zakura. "Had something happened to Isshō, each of you would be going up in flames." His gaze on Zakura was fixed now and he drew his sword and pointed it, under the table, directly at Zakura's crotch. "Which brings me to this point. Isshō is mine, but I let him do what makes him happy. Should you make him unhappy..." He pressed the sword in only lightly. "This will come off. Do I make myself clear?" Zakura wasn't intimidated in the least. He, of course, could regrow limbs. Or so he thought. He had a habit of overestimating his powers after learning that he was once an amnesiac god. "Yes, you do make yourself clear. But you know, there's no need for threats, y'know?" Zakura calmly stated, attempting to diffuse the situation. "Threats work better in general, especially for the last person who made Isshō hurt." His voice was full of disgust by the time he got to the end of his sentence. His eyes themselves were full of anger, and he moodily stabbed his pancake with his fork. "A-Awai.." Isshō murmured. "Can we please not bring that up? That's behind us." "Sorry." Awai replied in an equal murmur, before resuming eating. Zakura inched back slightly. Wow, this guy was nearly as bad as Yuuki. Though, Zakura Terui being Zakura Terui, he preferred to keep his mouth shut. Doing so, he resumed eating. About three minutes later... Isshō whined. "Awaiiiii, you made it all awkward and quiet!! We need something interesting to happen! I don't care what it is, just make something happen dammit!" Not paying attention, Zakura continued to chow down upon what was in front of him."Cheerio~" A shrill voice resounded, as a beautiful woman with long, blonde hair leapt through the window. Her bangs framed her face, trailing down to her chest in a behind layer of hair. Several clumps of hair were in the middle of her forehead, and the rest of her hair was tied into a long ponytail which draped down to her ankles in a dark vermillion ribbon. She had fine features, azure eyes and large breasts. Yuuki's eyes widened in shock, astounded that Nika Kazoraem was able to find them so easily. "And now, if I may so kindly ask...what the hell is that?" Awai asked, jerking his head in Nika's direction. "Particularly that ungodly power emanating from her." This devil woman remained deadly calm, as Yuuki stood from his seat, offering her his hand, to which she gladly shook it, albeit swinging Yuuki around in the process due to her monsterous strength. As Nika placed Yuuki back down, the Shinigami clutched his head in surprise, seeing nothing but stars. Regaining his bearings, Yuuki questioned, "Er, Nika...What are you doing here, exactly?" Nika smiled, replying, Why~ Nothing, really~ I just thought, I'd drop in~" "Why is it your very presence makes me want to reach for an aspirin, woman?" Awai asked, placing a hand on his head. He had a serious aversion to Nika. "Well, she seems...um...nice?" Isshō finished lamely. Nika couldn't help but wonder, why was the white-haired guy seemingly so afraid of her? They'd never met, so there was no reason to be afraid of her. "Howdy-doo~ How's it going~?" Her booming voice resounded throughout the air. "But~! First, there's something I need for all of you to do~" Awai shuddered. Seriously, what the hell was this woman who had done nothing but enter the building? "YAY!" Isshō crowed. "Action!...I hope." "Nope~" Nika's booming cackle resounded throughout the air. "It's nothing but deskwork~" At the mere mention of tedious paperwork, Yuuki froze up and Zakura growled in contempt. "No, no, I kid~ You see, there's this little cult called the Absolute Subjugation of Crimson Sovereign Organization, ASOCS for short. Now, you see, even though the Crimson Sovereigns have been sealed away, they're onto other matters~ Such as subjugation of damn near anything else they can find~" "...Yes, they do use that word a lot. It's irritating~" She chimed. "Can't they just say 'kill'~?" Awai frowned. "You're irritating..." He muttered. Isshō perked up. "Now this is what I have been waiting for! Something to do!" Nika continued, "You know who they remind me of~?" "Who?" Isshō asked, genuinely curious. "Gosh-darn natzees~" Nika responded, deliberately slurring her speech (for once) in order to not offend others. "And you remind me of a retarded individual." Awai muttered, clutching at his head. "Is there anyone else you're asking?" Isshō asked. Nika seemed fun to him. But, he wouldn't be inviting her over to the house if Awai disliked her this much. "Hey boy, watch yo' mouth~" Her tone sounded vaguely threatening, which was directed at Awai. "You may get hurt~" Turning to Isshou, she continued, "Why, no~ You're the only people~" "Awwwww..." Isshō pouted. "But, if this was like a full on mission, with secret agents..." He rambled on for a bit, leading to a new theory that during Isshou's first encounters with Zakura, he had been on some medication that made him calmer. Whatever it was, he'd stopped taking it. Nika could sense, that any medication was bad medication. "Oh-ho~ It is a mission with secret agents~" She made a swirly pattern with her finger in the air. "If you believe in magic~" "So, when do we start?" Isshou asked. He was really starting to like Nika. "Well~" Her voice inflected upwards. "When the Jack Ruby reaches Mt. Fuji and Bruce Lee fights zombie ninja panda bears~" "In all seriousness, please?" Awai butted in. "You're making no sense." "And I shall never make sense~" Nika responded. Yuuki sighed, responding, "...Oh, come on. Tell us." After several minutes of staring into the air with a vacant expression, Nika continued, "Oh~ But really, we need to find out where their main headquarters are~" "You don't know?" Awai asked incredulously. "You want to go on a mission to stop some organization and you don't know where they are?" He paused. "Yuuki, where do you keep the aspirin?" "It's in the cabinet on the far left. But really, Nika's not that annoying. She's just...special." Yuuki replied. "I gathered that much from when she opened her mouth." Awai muttered, feeling relieved that the father he got from Nika, the less his head hurt. He was able to return to his stoic attitude the moment the left the room. "So, how do we find the headquarters?" Isshō's wide-eyes followed his husbands movements but he continued to speak to Nika. "Don't you know someone who could help?" "Yes, there was that guy you met. Wasn't it, Touman or something~?" She continued, "I do suffer from a rare condition. It's called Awesomeitis~ Symptoms include being the best at everything you do~" Clearing her throat, Nika continued, "Actually~ You're looking at somebody who can lead you there~" At the mention of Touma, Isshō perked up. "Touma?" He looked around as if expecting Nika to pull Touma out of her cleavage. "Dear God, she keeps talking..." Awai's voice could be heard from the other room. "Wait, did you say you know?" Isshō just look in the last part of her sentence. Nika actually wanted to clock Awai in the face. Yes, really. It was rare that she wanted to hurt somebody. Keeping a smile, Nika affirmed, "Yes indeedy~" There was a brief silence; Nika refused to elaborate further, or she just forget about it. "Then when do we go?" Isshō pressed. Perhaps Touma would be going as well, if he knew about this place, and it was a bad place, perhaps he'd be there. Isshō felt warm at the thought. "Leave whenever you feel like~" Nika chimed. "I'll be there soon~" Wait, what? Yuuki applied his palm to his forehead in exasperation, as Zakura, really didn't know what was going on. "I don't think it can work like that." Isshō chuckled weakly. "We need you to lead us." "Very well~" Nika chimed, before placing her hand on Zakura's shoulder. "Sakura, lead the way~!" Zakura sighed. "Wait, what?" "I'm staying here." Awai called out. "I'd like to keep a dozen ri between me and that woman." "Then I'll stay here as well~" Nika boomed. "I do believe, that we're going to get along splendidly~" Isshō pulled on Nika expectantly. "C'mon, you have to lead us. No bugging Awai." "Too bad~" Nika snapped, "If he don't like the buggin', then he can get his pasty white arse outta this joint~ Because I'm like a boss~" Isshō tugged. "He doesn't like people in general, leave him alone and can we please move?" Awai came out of the room, holding an ice pack to his head. "I am in no shape to follow you, or have you stick anywhere near me." He was talking to Nika. "All the time is Nika time~" That devil woman cackled, as she rushed over to him. "That means, I have been next to you since you were born~" Awai put up a barrier, unbreakable by anything he'd ever encountered so far. He suddenly looked relaxed. "The head pain is gone." He murmured, back to his normally stoic self. "Nika!" Isshō put his hands on his hips and leaned forward, looking angry. "Get over here! You have to lead us to wherever the hell you want to take us! You're wasting our time, I should be making lunch for everyone if we're not going anywhere!" Nika flipped them the bird, as she boomed, "Screw y'all~ I'm eating cheerios~" All this, while eating Yuuki out of house and home before Yuuki grabbed her by the arm, dragging her off. Isshō walked over to Awai, and phased into the barrier, as Awai had long since programmed it to recognize him. He wrapped his arms around Awai, drawing him in for a kiss that lasted awhile. "Do me a favor and don't get hurt." Awai told him as Isshō let go. "I wouldn't appreciate your body being marred." "I try not to." Isshō smiled. "Don't worry, with that Nika woman, my Zanpakutō is stronger than ever." "True." Awai mused. "A form such as that would be a benefit in battle like no other." He kissed Isshō's forhead as the boy slipped out of the barrier. "Good luck." "Mhm!" Isshō ran to catch up with Yuuki, Zakura, and Nika. As Nika nudged Zakura painfully, the Crimson Sovereign weakly sung, "Now you feel like number one/Shining bright for everyone/Living out your fantasy, the/Brightest star for all to see/Now you feel like number one/Shining bright for everyone/Living out your fantasy, you're the/Brightest star there's ever been..." Gah, these lyrics were apparently made on crack. All the while, the devil woman played the air guitar in maniacal glee. "She's...singing." Isshō was surprised. "Someone should stop her. And Zakura too." Yuuki tugged on Nika's sleeve, causing her to jerk back as if yanked by a puppeteer's string. "Wait, what~?" She acted as if she was unaware of her actions. "What's going on~?" All she remembered was singing to crappy R&B music. Isshō frowned. "I'm already getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach about this. Perhaps you aren't reliable, Nika?" "Whatever~ just follow me~" Nika replied. She was rather ignorant to the happenings of people around her; not like she cared to be honest. "So, how well known is this ASOC or whatever you called it?" Isshō asked curiously. "Wouldn't the Gotei 13 be more suited to something like this? I mean, they are the Soul Society's military." "What the hell is the Gotei 13~" Nika responded, having disbanded it some time ago. "And no~" "But...the Twelfth Division Captain..." Isshō was surprised. "I heard he's still active and stuff. How can you not know the Gotei 13?" "Oh, yeah~" Nika stuttered absentmindedly. "Forgot about that guy~" "This is going to be an utter fiasco..." Isshō sighed. "Probably." Yuuki replied, as Nika couldn't help but be the first somewhat-friendly person to piss Zakura off. Somewhere in the bowels of ASOC, there was a small meeting being held. One could almost say it was like Parliament, however, the two opposing parties were not being led by any Prime Minister. They were each about to unleash their ideas about one subject. The fate of Touma Seisou. "...I honestly do not see how he is any threat to us. His actions implied he disagreed with our goals, but they did not imply he would become a threat. Letting him live shouldn't be a problem at all." This was an older man, withered, with whispy grey hair and a voice as equally faint. "However!" A hammy voice resounded throughout the thin walls. "You must take into consideration, that the boy possesses the Kumabachi Reisoubi. Anyone with a spirit gear- especially one with information about our darkest secrets must be eliminated." "W-what!?" The man looked around for the sound of the voice, as did the rest of the Council. "Who dares intrude upon our meeting? Show yourself!" "Hihihihihi~" A booming cackle resounded throughout the small room. Throwing off their cloak, a certain devil woman revealed themselves. One elderly man was absolutely flabbergasted, questioning, "...Wait, what the hell?" This Nika replied, "You see~ I am everywhere at once, yet I am one person~ I am legion, for we are many~ And you've just been rickrolled~" 'Never Gonna Give You Up' began booming in the room, as Nika leapt down from her chair. "Never mind how you got in here." A woman spoke up. "Leave this instant, this is a discussion of vital importance." Nika's cackle continued to resound, as she retorted while crossing her arms, "Make me~" Staring at her 'watch', she sighed, "Oh, never mind~ It's hair past a mole~ Time to skeddaddle~" She left the entire Council in confusion. "We...are going to pretend she never existed and resume Council." The whispy haired man cleared is throat. "Back on the subject of Touma Seisou. Opposing party, you may speak." "Hmph. I say, I say, I say, I say," A voice interrupted, "Get on with it." Clearing his voice, the senile old man continued, "I say...We do not accept resignations. Ex-Holy Commander Seisou must be dealt with appropriately. Meeting dismissed." This was the final decision- Touma would be hunted down like a dog.
