| abstract | - Back during the second war, Iwagakure possessed the largest army. The reason was because of this technique. Developed during the second world war, the Forced Indoctrination Technique was used on captured enemy shinobi. This technique gained infamy for not only its cruelty, but the way it was used to turn friends against each other. This technique uses three steps. The first step is is started when the user places his hand upon the forehead of the captured ninja. By pouring chakra into the captured shinobi's mind the user creates a series of illusions. Much like a genjutsu, this bends the victim's perception of reality. The victim undergoes ten years of torture, though in reality it's more like one hour. The victim's will is systematically broken down, leaving the victim open to the second part of this forbidden technique. The second part involves the systematic break down and reconstruction of human memories. The target's memories are not removed, but rather subtle tweaks are made. Often times this is merely used to make the target believe they were born and raised in Iwagakure. Names and people are also rewritten so that the indoctination into Iwagakure society moves along smoothily. The result is that the victim is convinced they are a loyal member of Iwagakure, rather than the nation they originally come from. Finally, the third step involves the addition of a seal upon the head of the captured shinobi. This seal, shaped like a swastika, is designed to protect the mind of the captured shinobi. By stabalizing the target's memories, the seal prevents others from reversing this technique. This is the time when the victim is vulnerable, as the removal of the seal will reverse the Forced Indoctrination Technique. Though, in order to reverse the effects, the seal must be removed within 24 hours, otherwise the effects of this technique become permanent. A side effect of this technique is that victims of this jutsu suffer from a change in eye color. The iris of affected shinobi turns yellow, though doujutsu remain unnefected. Even though this technique is labeled kinjutsu, many members of Iwagakure's Anbu forces are capable of using this jutsu.
