  • According to both the Great Fox Sage and the Great Toad Sage, there was once a legend spoken, nearly a century before the arrival of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, by an unknown oracle that was laughed off as a troublemaking witch. It stated: "There shall come a day when a thing of beauty shall occur. The deities that stand in the heavens will weep upon the world in a time of great need, in sadness of what has become of humanity, and from great despair rises the potential for joy. Nature itself shall answer the call and draw the attention of the warring people, in order to inspire true hope in the hearts of man. But humanity is not without anomaly. A heart of villainous intent will condemn the growth given birth by the gods, disregarding the divine, and seizing power to enact a justice of ill repute. Darkness will descend upon the world, as all light dims, and all hope dies. But, as all stories go, a hero will stand and fight to vanquish the evil that plagues the world. However, this is naught but folly. But another war this is. A war that shall see no end, and with each time darkness may fall to the strength of light, it will return without fail. But hope does still exist, even in this destiny. In the hearts of one hundred and eight, capable of ending the eternal wars, only if they stand together, not apart. For if they fight separately, but another war this fight shall be. In order for the wars to end, one hundred and eight must fight."
