  • When reading a Dreamstone, the Dreamstone’s text will change colour according to the element of the person that is talking. That way, you can decipher who is talking and learn some secrets about the backstory of the characters if you’ve been following the story so far. Lines of dialogue without quotation marks represent a character's thoughts; lines of dialogue with quotation marks represent a character’s spoken words.
  • The Dreamstone is a Key Item in Chrono Trigger and appears briefly in Chrono Cross. This red, glossy stone is considered a status symbol in Prehistory and is used to reforge the shattered Masamune. The Masamune was originally forged in Antiquity (12000 B.C.) at which point Dreamstone still existed. The stone was lost from civilization sometime after the fall of that time period's prominent Kingdom, known as Zeal.
  • The Dreamstones were twelve stones hidden all over the Moonlands and act as keys to unlocking the Core Glyph from the Book of Elders. One Dreamstone was designated to each of the Moonlands. Originally, only eleven were thought to exist, but a twelfth slot was revealed for the Core when the initial eleven were put into the Book of Elders. It is revealed when the Mythicore is befriended that the Dreamstones are actually the Guardian Hyrens' Animite
  • The Dreamstone is a ruby-like stone that Dream had stored power in. It was taken by Doctor Destiny (while Dream was captured). It was crushed by Doctor Destiny while h was fighting Dream (Destiny believed it would kill Dream if he crushed it), restoring full control of the Dreaming to Dream.
  • The Dreamstone is magical and contains passages that are designed to trap the person who goes in. Light comes out of the walls that is bright enough to see by. At one point, you are required to build a statue out of clay that can destroy another statue in order to place the key into the keyhole and continue. At the center, there is a lion and two bulls. The final keyhole is under the lions chin. The key's final shell will fall away and the Translocator will be revealed.

At one point, you are required to build a statue out of clay that can destroy another statue in order to place the key into the keyhole and continue. There is a large body of water somewhere in it, and at the center there is an island. The only way to get to the island is a rickety canoe, and the water is boiling hot. When the key is placed into the keyhole, the water turns cool and a tidal wave comes in, making the water level rise until the only escape is a small chute off to one side. Up that chute is a branch that can be swum down. At the end is a keyhole. When that keyhole is opened, the water level lowers and the water freezes. There is then a door that allows continuation. At the center, there is a lion and two bulls. The final keyhole is under the lions chin. The key's final shell will fall away and the Translocator will be revealed.
