  • George England is a former NASCAR driver from Dallas, TX. He competed in ten Sprint Cup Series events in his career, earning one top-ten. England's debut came in 1966, when he competed at Charlotte. It was a solid race for the driver, starting 41st in the field and completing all but a few laps to finish a solid 19th. England would step it up to a five-race schedule in the 1967 season, having his finest points season with a 73rd place showing in the points. However, the results simply weren't there for the driver. Three DNFs during the year severly hampered his efforts, only finishing better than 23rd once. That finish, though, would be England's career best 6th place finish at Nashville. Also of note was England's appearance in the prestigious Daytona 500, where he blew an engine to finish 49th. England's next start would come during the 1968 season, when he competed in a one-off appearance at Weaverville. Starting last (29th) in the field, England made his way to a 14th place finish despite a mid-race rear end gear finish. England's final three races would all come during the 1974 season, though it was a rather rough farewell. Mechanical failures took him out of every race and gave him a poor finish, with England finishing 26th at Richmond, 27th at Dover, and 29th at North Wilkesboro in his final career race.
