She can tape up a boo-boo, dash to the scene of an accident with a wheelchair or build a fully-functional MRI machine out of random spare pieces, all in a dizzying blur of motion…whether her chosen patient wants her to or not!
The Nurse thinks that every problem can be solved by expert medical care. If she sees a child crying because its balloon is stuck up in a tree, she’ll try everything from checking its temperature to taking X-rays, trying more and more complicated procedures when nothing seems to solve the problem. She doesn’t understand why the tears stop as soon as she gives the child a new balloon for being such a good patient, but she’s proud and delighted that her treatment worked anyway.

The doctor holds the baby in his arms and tells Emma that it's a boy, but the blonde, who is recuperating from the laboring process, looks away. The doctor calls out to her, but Emma starts shaking her head, looking as though she is about to cry. The nurse whispers something in the doctor's ear, apparently telling him that Emma has no intention of keeping the baby. The doctor addresses her again, reminding her that she can change her mind, and Emma responds that she can't be a mother. The doctor walks away with the baby and Emma looks up at the ceiling and cries. ("The Heart of the Truest Believer"/"Going Home")
- One day she was making rounds with the patients when a wounded Belgian soldier, Remy Baudouin began screaming and claiming that he still felt the bullet in him, and that the surgeons hadn't removed it. The nurse acted quickly in trying to calm Baudouin down, and called for two orderlies to help restrain him. Claiming that he was a danger to himself, the nurse gave way when Henri Defense (Indiana Jones) arrived. Leaving Baudouin with his friend, she went to check on other patients. As the Belgian corporal was exiting, she told him that Baudouin was scheduled to go back to the front on the next day. When Defense claimed that Baudouin was not ready, she agreed, but nothing could be done.

- When this spell is used, the animation generally includes medic angels or actual nurses that fly or run through the stage; at the end of the lengthy animation, the entire party is healed simultaneously. This spell is generally useful, as it heals all party members regardless of their positions, though it takes some seconds after its activation before anyone is healed. Some versions of the animation involve the nurses opening or tossing medical kits over each party member, delaying the actual healing effect. In the original Super Famicom version of Tales of Phantasia, it is possible for one or more of the party members to be unaffected by the healing. The number of nurses that appear is limited to the number of living allies who are visible in the part of the battlefield that the camera is focused on at the time the spell is cast so that one nurse will always heal the spellcaster, but additional nurses may not be spawned to heal other allies unless they are close to them. This inefficiency is removed in later releases of Tales of Phantasia and all other titles, allowing the spell to affect all party members, even if they are off-screen. In Tales of Eternia, casting Nurse opens large hospital doors on the left side of the field to allow the nurses to come running onto the field and heal the party. The long delay between the spell's activation and its healing effect is actually advantageous in this game due to the limitations of having a single-spell animation in progress at a given time, such that all other spells are queued until the animation of the current one ends, even if the full spellcasting duration has been achieved. This allows Nurse to be used as a means of preventing enemy spells from being activated while providing time for allies to attack an enemy that is frozen in its spellcasting stance. In Tales of Symphonia, Raine Sage obtains this spell if she is focused on the "Technical" branch of arte progression after having mastered First Aid. Repeating usage of this spell will eventually cause Raine to learn Healing Circle. Because of its ability to heal all party members for a moderate amount of HP, it is useful in situations where the whole party has been injured and is spread too far to be healed by area-based spells. However, its "Strike" counterpart, Heal, is capable of healing considerably more HP to a single ally. In Tales of Vesperia, the spell can be altered into Nightingale when the skill "Crucible" is equipped on Estelle.
- The nurses of Holby City Hospital's emergency department are staff who tend to patients for minor injuries and assist around the department. Nurses are required to wear blue scrubs for work. Charlie wears lighter mid-blue scrubs as he is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. Meanwhile, Robyn Miller, Louise Tyler and David Hide wear regular light blue scrubs as they're staff nurses. Jacob Masters wears a different uniform to the other nurses due to the fact he is a senior nurse, Tess Bateman wore the same colour of scrubs as Charlie due to this fact as well, as well as wearing the Clinical Nurse Manager uniform which is a dark blue short shirt with a thick white line around the cuffs and neck. Student nurses wore a purple colour scrubs to distinguish them from normal nurses. Ben "Lofty" Chiltern held the same position as Jacob for a brief period but still wore regular light blue scrubs, possibly implying the rank-uniform link is just a choice. The Clinical Nurse Manager is in charge of the nurses, their duties also include enforcing the code of conduct, managing rotas and reporting back to the Clinical Lead. When Rita Freeman left Holby, the role of acting Clinical Nurse Manager went to Jacob Masters, although he wasn't formally given the role. The permanent job went to Jacob eventually after being selected by Henrik Hanssen, but this was concealed by Clinical Lead Elle Gardner, until Jacob bribed it out of her.

(DS9: "Invasive Procedures") In 2375, according to The Doctor, several injuries that B'Elanna Torres had sustained and healed from without seeking treatment in sickbay looked as though they had been treated by someone working at the level of a first year nursing student.
