  • Angstrom Levy is a fictional character, a comic book supervillain in the Image Comics series Invincible. His first appearance was in Invincible #16. He was created by Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley; his mutated form was designed by Cory Walker. Little is known about Angstrom Levy's background; including how and when he developed the power to open up portals to alternate realities. At some point Levy sets out to amass information about the various alternate Earths so as to be able to travel through them more safely. To this end he contacts alternate versions of himself from hundreds of parallel Earths, and convinces them to help him. Next Levy frees the supervillains the Mauler Twins from prison on the condition that they help him create a machine that would allow him to copy the memories of his alternate reality counterparts into his own brain. With the aid of versions of themselves from other realities, the Mauler Twins are able to construct the machine. Levy is in the process of uploading the memories of his alternate selves when the process was interrupted by Invincible who is trying to apprehend the Maulers. The Maulers are on the verge of killing Invincible when Levy halts the machine to try and stop them, causing it to overload and explode. Unbeknownst to Invincible, Levy survives the explosion but was horribly mutated and suffered internal organ damage all while believing it was Invincible who stopped the machine. Revenge Surgeons are able to rebuild and even enhance Levy’s body but they were unable to correct his monstrous appearance. Levy is left with a burning hatred of Invincible whom he blames for the accident. He is able to discover that Invincible was really Mark Grayson by travelling to realities where his identity is public knowledge. Levy takes Mark's mother and his toddler baby brother hostage in their home and lures Mark in with a phone message. When Mark arrives to rescue his family, Levy sends him into the Marvel Universe. Levy mistreats his family, tossing the baby around and breaking his mother's arms in retaliation for a failed attack with a lamp. Mark returns but is sent to various other realities, such as one with zombies and some with familiar and not so familiar super-powered beings. On one of his many futile trips back home, Mark learns that Levy intends simply to wear him down and kill him, along with his family. Then he will do the same to all alternate Marks. Mark, tricking his opponent by waiting on one side of a portal, manages to tackle Levy into an abandoned wasteland of an Earth. Overestimating the success of Levy's enhancements, Mark seemingly beats him to death by accident. Mark is rescued from this wasteland by future versions of his friends, who had traveled through time and space to find him. Return At the end of Invincible issue 51, Angstrom is revealed to be spying on Mark as he sits atop his roof, via a small robotic camera. He is showing sitting in a room with many monitors, all with videos of Mark playing, and also with small electrical globes attached in his head. He has adopted a super villain style costume, complete with cape and new scars on his face from the previous encounter with Invincible. After spying on Mark for a number of months, Levy reveals his plan: gather evil versions of Invincible from other dimensions, and unleash them upon the first Mark's world. While this creates worldwide panic and death, the main goal is to ruin Invincible's reputation and cause him suffering. The world's superheroes unite, some giving their lives to battle and kill the murderous doubles of Invincible. In the end, Levy's plan fails as the Earth, though devastated, was not conquered. He escapes, but loses a limb, and upon arrival to the dimension of his doctors, loses their support and is informed that he now 'works for them'.
  • Angstrom Levy used his portal creation powers to save an alternate version of himself in Times Square. While Robot and The Immortal are killed by an evil Invincible. He takes his alternate self to a dock while the Guardians of the Globe handle an alien invasion. He reveals to his alternate self that they are many other versions of him. Next, he freed the Mauler twins from their imprisonment and take the duo to his lab. He asks the two build him a machine that will allow him to get the knowledge his alternate version home dimensions. They accept, but say they need more equipment. After the Mauler twins complete the project, Angstrom places the mind transfer device on his head until Invincible arrives. Angstrom would use his powers to summon several Maulers from other dimensions to keep Invincible from halting the process. He notices that the Maulers are attempting to kill Invincible, and he removes the device from his head. The result causes some Maulers to die and gave Angstrom a creased head and back. Angstrom would also lose some memory of the event. He leaves to a dimension to get his injury fixed by a race called the Technicians, hoping to get revenge on Invincible.Revenge on Mark Using his extradimensional knowledge, Angstrom finds out Invincible’s identity as Mark Grayson. He goes to Mark’s house and captures Mark’s mother and brother. He would then call Atom Eve and tell Mark of his family’s condition. Angstrom would send Mark through a series of dimensions, threatening Debbie and Oliver. While Angstrom is distracted, Deborah attempts to hurt him by using attacking him with a lamp. Angstrom is unaffected and breaks her arm. Angstrom goes to check on Mark and Mark grabs him. Seeing what he’s done, Mark crashes Angstrom through the Grayson house and Angstrom reveals his super strength to Mark. The duo would crash through a series of dimensions until they land in a wasteland. Angstrom threatens Mark’s family and an enraged Mark beats him to death. However, it is revealed that Angstrom had survived the encounter and had the same extradimensional patch him. He would have a disfigured face from it. He would have orb cameras watch Mark’s house to prepare himself for planning. Angstrom would collect several alternate Invincibles, bargaining that they get to expand their empires in exchange for laying waste to Mark’s reality.Invincible War Months after his apparent death, Angstrom finally enact his plan into action. While the evil Invincible would level Earth, Angstrom would command behind the scene. Afterwards, he would ask remaining Invincible to gather together and ask that they find his dimensional Invincible. They argue that he has a bargain and attempt to kill him. Angstrom sends them into the wasteland dimension that he was apparently killed in. Bulletproof, Oliver, and Mark charge towards him and he uses her orbs to find them off. He grabs Angstrom by his throat and Oliver suggest that Mark kill him. Mark readies himself to do so. However, Angstrom gets away in time but uses his forearm in the process. He asks the Technicians to patch him up and get ready for eight remaining Invincible to fight again. The Technicians refuse and state that Angstrom works for them now.The Death Of Everyone Angstrom would plot against Mark, but still owed the Technicians. After fulfilling his part, the Technicians release him. Angstrom will arrive to a flooded city and see what’s happening. It is revealed that Mark is dead, much to Angstrom’s surprise.Death Angstrom arrives his house and picks a newspaper to find out that Mark is very much alive. He sneaks into Mark’s house and sees Eve walk through the door. He attempts to suffocate her, but Mark arrives. He strands Mark into another dimension and talks with Eve. Angstrom wonders why Eve hasn’t used her powers and uses his dimensional knowledge to find out she’s pregnant. Eve argues with Angstrom by telling her what Mark had told her. Eve stated that Angstrom stopped the process by removing the device, which Angstrom said was a lie. Eve goes on to say that he was responsible for Rex’s death, but focusing on revenge is not the way to do things. Eve also cited that his dimensional access powers can be better used for better purposes than revenge. Angstrom has a change of heart and decides to release the two Marks. Angstrom explains that the process may made him lose his memory and that he had lost his way. Angstrom goes on to say that Mark is evil in many multiverses and it should concern him. Angstrom apologizes for what he’s done. thumb|Rex decapicates Angstrom so that Mark can never return back to his original reality. He surrenders and opens a portal for Mark’s alternate version. The alternate dimension Mark takes Angstrom into the dimension with him instead. When Mark and Robot arrive to the dimension, it is revealed that Angstrom is alive, but is being tortured in order to expand the Viltrum Empire Mark rules over. Robot betrays Mark by emitting a low pitch pulse. He kills the alternate reality Mark and scientists. Afterwards, he decapicates Angstrom, erasing Mark’s chance of returning back to his reality.

Levy returns in Invincible #104, taking Eve hostage and again sends Mark to the alternate dimension where the evil Invincibles were exiled. Only two of the evil Invincibles remain - having eaten each other. A battle ensues between Mark and the primary cannibal Invincible, with Mark being aided by the other evil Invincible. In the meantime, Eve has a passionate discussion with Angstrom reminding him of his initial desire to help humanity which became perverted due to the influx of memories from his alternate selves. Angstrom repents, and opens a portal to bring Mark home. Mark returns thru the portal, acommpanied by the one surviving evil Invincible. Angstrom explains to both of them that he wishes to pay for his crimes and help humanity, and opens a portal for the evil Invincible to return home. Seeking revenge, the evil Invincible grabs Angstrom and drags him thru the portal with him, with Mark unable to speed to him in time to save him.
