Synopsis
  • Green Lanterns Torquemada and Garmin Vid arrive at the planet of Quinilon in Sector 3521. They find a massive field of debris orbiting the planet and Ion floating in the middle of it. They question him about the carnage, but Ion begins acting strange. He cannot explain why he is even there. As his agitation grows, Ion begins acting irrationally. The other Green Lanterns attempt to calm him down, but he releases a brilliant flare of green light blasting them backwards. Later back on Earth, Kyle Rayner awakens inside of a rented cabin at an artists' colony in Kaaterskill's Notch. He talks with one of the elder artists, Schuyler, and meets an elective mute named Marissa Rochelle. He tries to ingratiate himself with Marissa, but she coldly dismisses him. As time passes, Kyle tried to lose himself in his artwork. However, his solitude is interrupted by the arrival of a female Thanagarian bounty hunter out for Kyle's head. As she brandishes her energy mace, Kyle changes into Ion. Meanwhile, something attacks the Green Lantern Citadel on Oa.
