The town's healer, Seth, had recently been murdered by Goblins, so Joth never healed right. He was compelled to take a position among the Great Captains. Unfortunately, the storms only grew worse, and soon the entire Fawn fleet was lost. Joth spent many hours staring out at the unforgiving sea. Joth was well aware that Great Captain Voldin was the true power in Fawn, though he did not suspect the depths to which Voldin was controlling the city. When the Avatar arrived in Fawn, Voldin's conspiracy was uncovered. Like most of the citizens of Fawn, Joth is killed when the Insanity Bane (possessing the body of Iolo) destroys the city.
