At Gibraltar Lieutenant-Commander McGavin was meant to be the test pilot of the VFI2 when it came under attack by Zentraedi forces under the command of Major Calen. His forces managed to easily overwhelm the Human defenders and forced Max Sterling to commandeer the VFI2 in order to battle the attackers. Max ultimately was forced to battle him in his Power Armor and was able to defeat his Zentraedi foe. The Carrier was present in the battle and later attempted to destroy the transport shuttle Mythos XFC 3 with its forward weapons. However, the detonation of Gibraltar's fusion reactor caused a catastrophic explosion which destroyed all the Zentraedi present on the scene which included the Transport Carrier.
  • Calen Engolan was born around the village known as Darkshire in the province of Duskwood. His family was part of the House of Tor, a minor noble house that was lost at the end of the Third War when the Worgen invaded their lands to the South East. Calen is the elder brother of Calor, who now patrols the city of Darkshire, and of Caela (deceased) his younger sister. Calen's natural affinity for magic drew him away from the family's lands and up to the academy of magic at Dalaran near Hillsbrad. There he became friends with a number of other Magi over his many years of study and eventually left to pursue his own goals and ambitions upon his graduation. It was not until the Council was threatened by the battles of the War that he returned to Dalaran to defend its walls. Calen's overwhelming interest in magic and arcane archeology drew him to the four corners of Azeroth; rarely allowing him the luxury of calling any one city home for long. His obsession for bits of quaint and curious volumes of forgotten lore drew him into the research of the Azjol-Nerub (the spider civilization in the north).
