Lee's final two races came during the 1954 season, when he started off at Gardena. Starting 31st in the field of thirty-two, Lee had a fuel pump give way late and finished a disappointing 25th. But it was better than a few weeks later, when Lee struggled to a 33rd place at San Mateo.
