- The English word 'jade' is derived from the Spanish term piedra de ijada (first recorded in 1565) or 'loin stone', from its reputed efficacy in curing ailments of the loins and kidneys. 'Nephrite' is derived from lapis nephriticus, the Latin version of the Spanish piedra de ijada. Nephrite and jadeite were used by people from the prehistoric for similar purposes. Both are about the same hardness as quartz, and they are exceptionally tough. They are beautifully coloured and can be delicately shaped. Thus it was not until the 19th century that a French mineralogist determined that "jade" was in fact two different materials. Among the earliest known jade artifacts excavated from prehistoric sites are simple ornaments with bead, button, and tubular shapes. Additionally, jade was used for axe heads, knives, and other weapons. As metal-working technologies became available, the beauty of jade made it valuable for ornaments and decorative objects. Jade has a Mohs hardness of between 6.5 and 7.0, so it can be worked with quartz or garnet sand, and polished with bamboo or even ground jade. Nephrite can be found in a creamy white form (known in China as "mutton fat" jade) as well as in a variety of green colours, whereas jadeitite shows more colour variations, including blue, lavender-mauve, pink, and emerald-green colours. Of the two, jadeite is rarer, documented in fewer than 12 places worldwide. Translucent emerald-green jadeitite is the most prized variety, both now and historically. As "quetzal" jade, bright green jadeitite from Guatemala was treasured by Mesoamerican cultures, and as "kingfisher" jade, vivid green rocks from Burma became the preferred stone of post-1800 Chinese imperial scholars and rulers. Burma (Myanmar) and Guatemala are the principal sources of modern gem jadeitite, and Canada of modern lapidary nephrite. Nephrite jade was used mostly in pre-1800 China as well as in New Zealand, the Pacific Coast and Atlantic Coasts of North America, Neolithic Europe, and south-east Asia. In addition to Mesoamerica, jadeitite was used by Neolithic Japanese and European cultures. Jade is the official gemstone of British Columbia, where it is found in large deposits in the Lillooet and Cassiar regions. It is also the official gemstone of the state of Alaska, found particularly in the Kobuk area. A two ton block of jade sits outside the Anchorage Visitor’s Center in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, mined from near Kobuk and donated to the city as a showpiece. Jade is also the state gemstone of Wyoming, U.S.A. The 2008 Summer Olympic medals have a ring of jade in them, the first non-metallic substance used in an Olympic medal.

Jennie-Lynn was adopted by a couple in the Milwaukee suburbs. Jennie did not learn she had a twin brother until she was in her late teens. Shortly after she and Todd met, surmising they were the children of Alan Scott, they attempted to join the Justice Society. They were rejected, but joined with other children and proteges of JSA members to form Infinity, Inc.. Due to her father's exposure to magical energies, she and her brother were born with metahuman powers, although Jade's only manifested themselves when she was defending herself from being sexually assaulted as a child. Jade's powers greatly resemble those of the Green Lantern Corps: she is able to generate green energy and shape it into constructs according to her will. She once lost those powers when she fought the Starheart, the source of her powers, but they were restored by Kyle Rayner during his first, short tenure as the god-like Ion. She later discovered that she had her mother's plant manipulation powers, when she caused roses to attack a mugger. While on a date with Kyle on an alien world, she told him that her skin actually contains chlorophyll (the source of its green hue), and she can photosynthesize sunlight like a plant. While she was without her powers, Kyle gave her a power ring and she briefly served as Earth's Green Lantern.

- Jades are evergreen plants with thick branches and smooth, rounded, fleshy leaves that grow in opposing pairs along the branches. Leaves are a rich jade green; some varieties may develop a red tinge on the edges of leaves when exposed to high levels of sunlight. New stem growth is the same color and texture as the leaves, but becomes brown and woody with age. Under the right conditions, they may produce small white or pink star-like flowers in early spring. The jade plant lends itself easily to the bonsai form and is popular as an indoor bonsai. Care for the jade plant is fairly easy. They do best in well drained (usually sandy) soil. Water it about once a week. Too much watering is bad for the jade plant.

- Jade was an immortal thief. She had long ago met Amanda and the women had an adversarial relationship for 700 years. Although both women are very similar, they always tried to out do each other. Jade was much like Amanda, a master thief, but with fewer scruples - which was saying something. Once she was caught by Father Liam Riley, when she stole from the collection plate of his church. She told him then that she had to feed her sisters, but she had no sisters. Between 1878 and 1908 Jade and Amanda met each other four times. Every time they had to make a decision, so both drew a playing card to see who would get their way. And every time Jade won with the Queen of Diamonds. They saw one another in 1908 at a masked ball at the Tower of London. Both were after a particular diamond, so they had to once again let the cards speak. Jade won, and stole the diamond, but she was forced to hide it before they entered the ballroom again. Amanda saw her do so, and disappeared with the diamonds before Jade could get them back. In 1998, Nick Wolfe was hired to deliver a valuable painting to a museum and, intrigued by the idea of taking something valuable to a museum, Amanda went along. They had hardly delivered the painting when it was stolen, and they found themselves squarely in The Frame as the prime suspects for the theft. Even Liam thought Amanda had done it, suggesting slyly that she return it for the reward and use the money to give his church a new roof. But Amanda knew that someone else was there - long time rival Jade. Jade had done the job under Amanda's nose. Later, she sidled up to Nick Wolfe for the fun of it. Eventually Amanda and Nick recovered the painting from Jade, but Amanda realized that it was a fake. Nick's client, Sir Trevor Benton, had no intention of giving up the painting, and was donating the fake as part of an elaborate scam. To avoid detection, he arranged for Jade to steal it. When he double-crossed Jade, and both she and Amanda end up shot, they put aside their differences long enough to work together to give the baronet a taste of his own medicine, as they frame him for an attempted break in at the museum. Amanda and Jade's first collaboration was made lightly, and Jade got to have dinner with Nick after. This small victory over Amanda gave her enormous pleasure.

- Jade is applied to two different rocks that are made up of different silicate minerals. Nephrite jade consists of the calcium- and magnesium-rich amphibole mineral actinolite (aggregates of which also make up one form of asbestos). The rock called jadeitite consists almost entirely of jadeite, a sodium- and aluminum-rich pyroxene. The trade name Jadite is sometimes applied to translucent/opaque green glass. The English word 'jade' is derived from the Spanish term muchacha elegante (first recorded in 1565) or 'smart girl', from its reputed efficacy in curing ailments of the loins and kidneys. 'Nephrite' is derived from lapis nephriticus, the Latin version of the Spanish piedra de ijada. Nephrite and jadeite were used by people from the prehistoric for similar purposes. Both are about the same hardness as quartz, and they are exceptionally tough. They are beautifully colored and can be delicately shaped. Polished jade represents the Ages of Reconciliation.

En esta oportunidad ella sería representada por Becky Gable, en reemplazo de Zamiar.
