  • Anemoi Thuellai
rdfs:comment
  • THE ANEMOI THUELLAI were the spirits (daimones) of the violent storm-winds, sons of the monstrous hurricane-giant Typhoeus. They were kept locked away inside the floating island of Aiolos (Aeolus) and released at the command of the gods to wreak their havoc. Their female counterparts were the Harpyiai (also known as the Aellai and Thuellai). The storm-winds were often conflated with the gentler Anemoi of the four directional winds--Boreas (the North Wind), Notos (the South-Wind) and Zephyros (the West-Wind) and Euros (the East-Wind).

In the Odyssey of the Stormbringer, these four violent storm gods train Savantia her in place of their parents' (Pyriel and Typhoeus), whereas the Anemoi of the four directional winds take care of Savantia, calling themselves "Savantia's big brothers".
