Synopsis
  • At the A.R.G.U.S. Detroit branch, Amanda Waller is surprised by the return of Vibe. Feigning composure, she demands to know where he's been, and why he disappeared during a breacher breakout that saw many A.R.G.U.S. agents injured or killed. Cisco explains that when Rupture appeared, he was taken back to Gypsy's home dimension of Piradell, where he met her father - a man called Breacher. In order to stop Gypsy's mother, Breacher embedded a device in Vibe's chest that turned him into a multiversal bomb. Remembering his brother at last, Armando impulsively thrust his weapon into the device, causing a massive explosion that eliminated all that remained of life on Piradell. Fortunately - if that's the word - Mordeth had transformed the population into mindless automatons called Raptors. Unfortunately, Armando's hold over his own body faded, and Rupture returned, insisting that Gypsy had been killed, though Cisco knew she hadn't. Angrily, Cisco hoped to beat Mordeth's influence out of Armando, but to no avail. While on earth, their fighting tore holes in the fabric of reality, on Piradell, it had a different effect. Cisco discovered during his interdeminsional travel that Earth is the nexus point for the doorways to countless worlds. Extradimensional beings simply gravitate there because it is the easiest place to breach and the easiest bridge between other dimensions. Waller knew this. Years ago, A.R.G.U.S. had made a deal with Breacher to look after his daughter in exchange for the secrets of the Multiverse. If Mordeth had got hold of Gypsy, she would have been able to use Earth as a hub for her conquest of other worlds. As Cisco fought his brother, he hoped to save him, but he failed to notice the Raptors coming for him. Stealing away Rupture's weapon, Cisco used its power to fend the Raptors off, but found himself under attack by Mordeth herself soon after. Seeing his brother in peril, Armando regained control and sliced Mordeth in half, demonstrating that she was merely an android. With her death, Armando was free, but it also meant that Mordeth's consciousness was returning to its original host - which would make her more powerful than ever before. Desperately, they sought to rescue Gypsy before Mordeth could use her. Thanks to Armando's memories of Mordeth's secrets, they found her quickly. Mordeth, though, was building her strength, and Armando insisted that he stay behind to deal with her and atone for his sins as Rupture. He gave Cisco his scythe to guide him back to Earth. Now that Cisco is back, he has demands to make, aided by the threat of Gypsy's knife to Waller's throat, having hidden herself in the room thanks to her illusion-casting abilities. Cisco requires the resources at A.R.G.U.S. to have Rupture's scythe take him back to Piradell, end Mordeth's reign, and save Armando and Breacher at last. With the weakened boundaries around the earth, someone who knows about the Multiverse will be required to protect the planet, and that person is Vibe. And if Waller doesn't help, he will not necessarily fulfill that role. Additionally, Cisco demands that his immediate superior be Agent Dale Gunn, and no other - not Waller or anyone else. Despite the investigation into Gunn's activities in the Circus of late, Dale and Vibe are leading teams to stop breaches all over the world, and Gunn is happy to let Vibe take the lead. Unbeknownst to them, though, Waller has found a means of controlling Vibe regardless, having struck up a deal with Cisco's brother Dante Ramon, who is not at all what he seems.
