The process was originally believed to be totally irreversable but in the Archie comics some extremely advanced alien species found ways to reverse the process - though this does little to reduce the fear the technology has on Mobians. Victims of the Roboticizer are countless but some of the most famous in the Sonic canon are Uncle Chuck (also known as Sir Charles Hedgehog) and Bunni Rabbot (though Rabbot managed to avoid complete Roboticization, instead becoming "half-and-half") and Jules Hedgehog (Sonic's father) - in at least one alternate reality Doctor Robotnik has even used the Roboticizer on himself (showing how mad he can truly be).

The roboticiser in Sonic Underground appears to function differently than its counterparts. It's background is never delved into and it can be assumed that Robotnik was solely responsible for its creation. While the roboticisers of SatAM and Archie completely convert flesh into metal, the SU roboticiser only carries the process out on some of the body. The subjects therefore bear resemblance to cyborgs, although there are exceptions (e.g. Argus). Interestingly, they still speak in robotic voices even when their mouth remains organic. Vehicles, such as the RG-15 and the Thresher XL, can still get roboticized like most of the Mobians, despite already covered in metal, such as their headlights turning from white to black, their wheels turning into pure steel, the interior covered in robotic interiors, and their engines turning robotic, and, unlike most Mobians who are roboticized, vehicles speak in complete robot-like voices. Even though the Roboticizer is intended to work only for Mobians, this works on vehicles as well, but only living ones. Unlike vehicles who behave like Mobians, however, since Johnny's vehicles are not living like any Mobian would, his vehicles would explode in a wide blast radius if coming into contact with the Roboticizer, or if attacked three times by a roboticized Mobian.
