  • Victims of Erasure simply stop moving, as if they had become hollow shells. Although the process of removing a DNA Soul is undescribed, it seems to wipe out all operating data, including security programs, without inflicting physical damage on the Reploid's body. All this data is contained in the Reploid's DNA Soul, which is capable of returning to its rightful body if left uncontained.
  • Possibly due to the group's overtly commercial sound, Peel does not seem to have played any of Erasure's music. He was host on Top of the Pops when the duo made their show debut on 20 November 1986 with the single Sometimes, although they were introduced by co-host Janice Long. The only other connection is with group member Vince Clarke who had recorded a session with Yazoo in 1982, and the hit single Never Never with Feargal Sharkey of the Undertones as The Assembly, which made the 1983 Festive Fifty.

They first entered the music scene with their debut single "Who Needs Love Like That" and after the release of their fourth single "Sometimes" they became one of the most successful bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s. They are popular in the UK, mainland Europe and South America, and are also popular among the LGBT community due to singer Andy Bell's status as a gay icon.
  • The effects of Erasure were corrosive, and was capable of disintegrating flesh and bone upon impact, depending upon the intensity of the blast and the level of protection an individual could muster, provided they were Voidwalkers or wielders of the Primal Force. Erasure also appeared to deliver concussive force upon contact with mass, and has been described as shattering duracrete and warping the metal frame of the shuttle utilized by a Federation strike force during the Ambush on Endor.

  • Erasure is the process of eliminating something from existence, an ability used by Players, Reapers, and Noise. If a Player is defeated by Noise, they are Erased; likewise if a Player is Erased specifically by a Reaper or another Player. Reapers can Erase Players if they pose an immediate threat to the running of the Reapers' Game or if the all Players fail to complete a given day's mission. If a player defeats a noise or a Reaper, it is Erased.
  • In 1985, keyboardist Vince Clarke, having parted ways with Depeche Mode and Yazoo singer Alison Moyet, took an ad out in Melody Maker magazine looking for a new singer to work with. Some 40 respondents showed up at the recording session, each performing two songs Clarke had written for the session. The second-to-last audition of the session was a shy young butcher named Andy Bell. As soon as Andy famously burst into falsetto on the chorus of "Who Needs Love Like That?", Vince knew he had found what he was looking for. They released the track almost immediately, and Erasure was born.

A Synth Pop duo, Erasure's style is characterized by rich synthesizer backdrops, upbeat dance-oriented beats, Bell's soaring four-octave range, and one-man multi-part harmonies. Bell was one of the first openly gay performers in the pop music industry, and his voice is regarded as one of the greatest in British soul. They are one of Britain's most successful pop acts, with five Number One albums and 40 Top 40 hits. Although they are most commonly known today as "The band that wrote the song to Robot Unicorn Attack".
