It was later confirmed that "Herobrine" was merely a retextured Painting. Later, a player called Patimuss released a stream showing "Herobrine" in a player-made lava field. - Herobrine on Minecraftin hyvin yleinen myytti, jonka monet pelaajat väittävät olevan pelissä. Herobrine on (tarinan mukaan) Notchin kuollut veli, vaikka he eivät näytä toisiltaan.
- I had recently spawned a new world in single-player Minecraft. Everything was normal at first as I began chopping down trees and crafting a workbench. I noticed something move amongst the dense fog (I have a very slow computer so I have to play with a tiny render distance). I thought it was a cow, so I pursued it, hoping to grab some hides for armor. I haven't seen the mystery man since our first encounter, and I haven't noticed any changes to the world other than my own. I was able to press 'print screen' when I first saw him. Here's the only evidence of his existance:
- Niedawno rozpocząłem grę na nowym świecie Minecraft w trybie pojedynczego gracza. Wszystko wyglądało normalnie, zacząłem ścinać drzewa i stworzyłem stół warsztatowy.
- Herobrine was born not long ago to Zangolio and Xansee, and his birth name was George. He was triplets with Notch and Ender Steve (Then named Steve, not to be confused with the Minecraft Player), and AD, ADlleo, and ADwheeo were born a couple of years later. One day on Zangolio and Xansee's farm, the family dog ran into the woods, and Steve ran after it. The dog came back, but Steve never did.

- Herobrine (real name: Herobrine Persson) is a widely popular creepypasta and urban legend originating from the sandbox video game, Minecraft. He was seemingly never added in the actual game but many players claim to see him haunting them, evolving into a sort of "Creepypasta." He is popular with the Minecraft community in the fact of his creepy and rather disturbing presence, causing havoc on the player in some cases (especially in dreams, usually saying "WAKE UP").

He is popular with the Minecraft community in the fact of his creepy and rather disturbing presence, causing havoc on the player in some cases (especially in dreams, usually saying "WAKE UP"). Herobrine is an enigmatic figure by nature - his character is not explicitly defined, and although there has been much fanon surrounding the character, Herobrine is most commonly represented as a sort of sentient, omnipotent ghost and the doppelganger of Steve in Minecraft who's in-game abilities extend far more than what should be possible. Herobrine is commonly the main antagonist in non-canon material regarding Minecraft, due to his popularity as a Creepypasta and his evil persona. He has also been widely interpreted as Notch's deceased brother due to a few comments made by Notch (although he has since retracted them).

Zrobiłem zrzut ekranu, kiedy go zobaczyłem po raz pierwszy. Jest to jedyny dowód na jego istnienie.

Herobrine-myytti alkoi Minecraft -foorumille lähetetystä Herobrinen tarinasta, mikä oli vitsinä luotu "kauhutarina". Monet uskovat Herobrinellä olevan kymmenkunta HP:ta ja että yksi isku vahingoittaa puolet pelaajalta ilman suojavarusteita. At first, George, AD, ADlleo, ADwheeo, ADrigee, and Notch tried looking for Steve. Unsucessful, all of them gave up... except Herobrine. He searched like mad for the next fifteen years, to the point where he was almost driven to insanity. His eyes lost their pupils as a result of this, but he could still see. Late one night, Steve popped out of nowhere. Steve was unchanged since anyone last saw him- he hadn't aged and he wore the same clothes he wore since that fateful day. George asked Steve where the Beegee Underworld he had been, but Steve was confused. He claimed to have only been gone a couple of minutes, and asked George what happened to his torn clothes. George, angry, told Steve he had been gone fifteen years. Steve was extremely surprised by this, and said "Exuse me, but.." and ran into the woods and into The End, where he turned into Ender Steve and is still there today. Geroge changed his name to Herobrine and got over the loss of Steve, but still misses him. To express his occasional stress and anger, he kills random Minecraft Players. He is best friends with his brothers AD, ADlleo, ADwheeo, and ADrigee and visits them often, helping them on adventures. He doesn't visit Notch very often because of their rivalry, but deep down they still love respect each other as brothers. He is an ally of Weegee and was even part of the League of Weegees before it disbanded. He is now part of the UGOASP. Herobrine lives in a fortress located in the Beegee Underworld. He now has an army called The Herobrine Miners.

No había nadie. Page not found. It wasn't a cow though. Looking back at me was another character with the default skin, but his eyes were empty. I saw no name pop up, and I double-checked to make sure I wasn't in multiplayer mode. He didn't stay long, he looked at me and quickly ran into the fog. I pursued out of curiousity, but he was gone. I continued on with the game, not sure what to think. As I expanded to world I saw things that seemed out of place for the random map generator to make; 2x2 tunnels in the rocks, small perfect pyramids made of sand in the ocean, and groves of trees with all their leaves cut off. I would constantly think I saw the other "player" in the deep fog, but I never got a better look at him. I tried increasing my render distance to far whenever I thought I saw him, but to no avail. I saved the map and went on the forums to see if anyone else had found the pseudo-player. There were none. I created my own topic telling of the man and asking if anyone had a similar experience. The post was deleted within five minutes. I tried again, and the topic was deleted even faster. I received a PM from username 'Herobrine' containing one word: 'Stop.' When I went to look at Herobrine's profile, the page 404'd. I received an email from another forum user. He claimed the mods can read the forum user messages, so we were safer using email. The emailer claimed that he had seen the mystery player too, and had a small 'directory' of other users who had seen him as well. Their worlds were littered with obviously man-made features as well, and described their mystery player to have no pupils. About a month passed until I heard from my informant again. Some of the people who had encountered the mystery man had looked into the name Herobrine and found that name to be frequently used by a swedish gamer. After some further information gathering, it was revealed to be the brother of Notch, the game's developer. I personally emailed Notch, and asked him if he had a brother. It took him a while, but he emailed me back a very short message. I haven't seen the mystery man since our first encounter, and I haven't noticed any changes to the world other than my own. I was able to press 'print screen' when I first saw him. Here's the only evidence of his existance:
