Von der in Zürich lebenden Autorin Chandra Kurt gibt es in dem Buch "Tierisches zum Brüllen" (2006) eine Kurzgeschichte über ihre Namensvetterin im Zürcher Zoo. Chandra hat einen jüngeren Bruder namens Fahim, der 2009 den Zürcher Zoo verlassen hat und jetzt mit dem Jungbullen Tunga im Bellewaerde Park in Ieper (Belgien) lebt. Über ihren Vater Maxi hat sie eine Reihe von Halbgeschwistern, von denen derzeit nur ihre Halbschwester Farha mit auf der Zürcher Anlage lebt. Die weiteren Kälber von Ceyla-Himali leben entweder nicht mehr oder wurden bereits abgegeben.
