  • The Immortal appear to be a sub-species of Human that are very difficult, if not impossible, to kill. Immortals are very similar to Humans, yet cease ageing at a point, and can heal from all injuries almost instantaneously. Evidently, one cannot know if they are an Immortal until their death. (TNG novel: Greater Than the Sum) Gary Seven was aware of the existence of Immortals prior to 1984. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

  • "Immortal" is a catch-all term for any Specials who have lived longer than one lifetime. While many of these Specials possess abilities that do make them immortal, or impervious to damage/unable to die, many others are able to be killed, and simply have longevity as a byproduct of their abilities. These individuals may also (and more correctly) be called Ancients.

  • Immortals are beings incapable of dying of natural means, the opposite of mortals. However, they can still be killed or vanquished through unnatural means like magic or physical harm. Although beings can be born immortal, some acquire immortality through other means. Immortal beings are often immune to the effects of aging or at least age at a slower rate as mortals.

  • Immortals stand over twice as tall as a terran wearing CMC armor. They are outfitted with two twin phase disruptors as their primary attack form; they give critical fire support to legions of zealots against ground targets, deployed when the protoss are faced with heavy enemy firepower. These blasts can easily punch large holes in heavy plating, but their limited field of fire prevents Immortals from engaging aerial targets. When deployed, immortals give critical support by eliminating enemy artillery and ranged attackers.
  • Immortal Creatures will not die. Or, rather, they will just live for such a long time that you'll never see them die, unless you leave your game on forever and you can stay alive. Some genetic mutations that can cause immortality are: * large amount of glycogen produced (see Highlander). This is a C1 only method! * decreasing the half-life of ageing/life * deleting the receptor to change life stages - the norn becomes 'stuck' in a lifestage * deleting the automatic death gene altogether
  • Immortal is a monster Type that exists in the game Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses. Immortal monsters, regardless of ATK, can move in and out of Crush Terrain freely, and when destroyed by battle, turn the surrounding spaces into Crush Terrain, often destroying the attacking monster. Many resemble machines of some sort or strange creatures related to liquids. There are only eleven in the game. They all have a counterpart in the OCG/TCG, except "Carat Idol". The Immortal-Type monsters are:
  • An Immortal is an incredibly powerful being, occupying the third-highest rank, only surpassed by Origin and End, and the god and goddess Delmerith and Seraphina. Each Immortal is the embodiement and guardian of one of the Universal Elements. They can be categorized into two groups of seven Immortals: the Abtract Ideas (most commonly associated with the term Immortal) and the Concrete Ideas (more commonly known as the Elementals, or Humors). These beings are not to be confused with others who are immortal, such as Magnus, the distinction made in text as lower- or upper-case "i".
  • An Immortal is a sentient creature (usually human) who has, through some means, managed to become incapable of death. They are not necessarily ageless, but tend to retain their normal forms. Undead or creatures who inherently cannot be killed (such as elementals) are not classed among their number. The only known examples of such beings are the Immortal Hero Tarnum and Grand Vizier Gavin Magnus, the Immortal King of the nation of Bracada. Tarnum obtained his immortality from the influence of The Ancestors, while it is believed Magnus' stems from a spell.
  • A skill that makes the user block every kind of damage, be it magic or physical, including almighty. It makes an appearance in Devil Survivor, possessed by Beldr. It's uncrackable. The only attack that's not blocked is Devil's Fuge, a physical attack unlocked after the protagonist finds a phone strap with mistletoe, also called devil's fuge. The protagonist is the only one who can use Devil's Fuge skill.
  • The Immortals are a race of humanoids from the planet Zeist. The name "Immortal" might not be the true name of the species, but it is the name that they are most associated with. The physiology of the Immortals is somewhat odd, as on their home planet they are not truly immortal. They are only immortal whilst they are on the planet Earth, during which they can only be killed by severing the head from their body and "The Quickening" takes place. If "The Quickening" does not take place, then the immortal will come back.
  • The Immortal is one of the Chinese hero units in Age of Mythology: Tale of the Dragon. Immortals are unique as they have both a melee and ranged attack and will use whichever weapon is best suited for their opponent. Like other Heroes, Immortals are strong against myth units. While Immortal melee attack does 9 points of hack attack, its ranged attack have 6 points piece attack, which is significantly weaker.
  • Immortals are immune to death in any form. They do not age, nor can they die from poison or disease. They are immune to all weapons that mortals use, as they are not forged from magical metals such as celestial bronze, Stygian iron, Imperial gold, or bone steel (Norse gods only). If their bodies are somehow harmed or destroyed they will eventually reform, though the length of this process can vary from days to centuries. Almost all immortals have supernatural abilities far surpassing those of normal mortals, and they are typically hidden from human view by the Mist. However, immortals tend to show some predictability, and most tend to be very prideful, arrogant, not willing to accept help from lesser beings even to the point of fading. Also immortals tend to follow "patterns" as the Second
  • An Immortal is a person, place, or thing that cannot die. Immortalology is the pseudoscientific study of all things that cannot die, such as Angels, Gaia, and Keith Richards. This is not to be confused with Obnoxiousology, the study of things that we wish to die but have not yet, such as Pauly Shore, Madonna's career, and Barney the dinosaur.
  • The Immortals are a pair of angel and demon NPCs in the Battlefield of Eternity. They spawn at roughly 1:45 into the game at one of the four circles, having a level of roughly three. They will instantly begin to battle. Heroes attempt to defend their immortal while taking down the opposing immortal. Immortals have an area of effect cleave as well as a stun + knockback effect. When an immortal is at roughly 50%, it will charge into the center, clash with the opposing immortal, and then randomly reappear at any one of the four circles. The fight will continue from there.
  • The Immortal is a Protoss cybernetic war machine designed to withstand heavy fire on the field of battle. The hardened shield of the Immortal allows it to survive concussive force that would tear an infantryman to shreds easily, while sustaining little to no damage at all.
  • An immortal is a creature in the Tortall universe that lives indefinitely unless killed. Gods live forever; they cannot be killed. Lesser immortals, those that live among mortals, can be killed. The Badger explained this to Daine and Numair. The Human Era began after all the immortals were trapped by mages in the Divine Realms. Centuries later, in 447 HE, Carthaki mages found the spells used and released many immortals back into the human realms, primarily in Tortall. The Eastern and Southern Lands were plunged into The Immortals War.
  • When following rules, immortals can only be seen when they wish to be seen, even by other immortals. While it has been shown that immortals can potentially look like whatever they please (they can shapeshift) - from a mischievous child to an amorphous blob - most that have been seen typically stay in their true form. It is, however, common for immortals to have oddly shaped ears. Thus far, there is only one known immortal who chooses to occasionally look like a child - Pandora Raven, who was the third immortal introduced. The other three known immortals, the French Immortals and Jerry, have chosen to use their physical form to reflect their approximate physical ages; i.e., before resetting themselves, they looked like old, aged elves. The French Immortals, having reset, now resemble teenag

  • Immortals are capable of speech, albeit in flat and emotionless tones that are even more soulless than the hollow voices of the Necron Overlords. This enables them to not only provide clinically precise battlefield reports to their superiors but also to issue orders to Necron Warriors, a factor that often increases the efficiency of the entire battlefront. Outside these parameters, Immortals are, at best, limited conversationalists, often falling prey to recursive loops of logic and procedure in place of conveying any truly relevant information. If presented with an enquiry or concept beyond its ancient understanding, an Immortal simply does not respond. This trait only serves to encourage the more arrogant Necron Overlords in their rambling and rhetorical soliloquies. This ensures that a

  • The Immortal is a Protoss cybernetic war machine designed to withstand heavy fire on the field of battle. The hardened shield of the Immortal allows it to survive concussive force that would tear an infantryman to shreds easily, while sustaining little to no damage at all. Historically, crippled veteran Templar could volunteer to continue serving by being transplanted into Dragoon exoskeletons. This honored tradition was nearly broken by the fall of Aiur when the shrine dedicated to Dragoon creation was infested by the Zerg. Following the Brood War, crippled Templar were transplanted far more commonly into the new Immortal exoskeletons instead. Immortals are outfitted with two twin Phase Disruptors as their primary attack form; they give critical fire support to legions of Zealots against ground targets, deployed when the Protoss are faced with heavy enemy firepower and are even able to shrug off rounds fired by Siege Tanks. When deployed, Immortals give critical support by eliminating enemy artillery and ranged attackers. However, the specially hardened energy shields of immortals only activate when struck by powerful attacks, which leaves them more vulnerable to the pinprick attacks of lesser foes.

They soon discover that, unknown to everyone, Turner was leading a double life. Family tensions escalate as the detectives begin to unravel secrets of an exploited family. In search for the truth, EADA Cutter crosses a line with Lt. Van Buren during trial.
The Immortal-Type monsters are: * Carat Idol * Electromagnetic Bagworm * Jowls of Dark Demise * Moisture Creature * Mucus Yolk * Rigras Leever * Servant of Catabolism * Shapesnatch * Slate Warrior * Souleater * Timeater A common theme in the artwork of the Immortal-Type monsters is that they do not show the entire creature, only a part of it can be seen. However, it is possible to see their entire form in 3D models in some video games.

A surviving immortal gains a shield proportionate to its surviving health and will attack the enemy's strongest lane.
  • There are few creatures that Umbrella keep to themselves and that is Immortals. They have successfully made three immortal being from the T-Virus.
  • Immortals are beings who exist outside the material planes. They are ageless and incapable of dying a natural death although they can be killed with sufficient physical or magical force. Immortal beings include gods, elementals and primordials.
  • Most of the Olympian Gods and the Titans fall under this category. Some of them, however still age until they achieve their Immortality and once achieved do not age.
Also immortals tend to follow "patterns" as the Second Olympian War and the Giant War are both just history repeating itself.
If fatally wounded, an Immortal recovers extremely swiftly, their injuries quickly healing. When a long-lived Immortal is cut off from the influence that grants them their inability to die, they begin to age rapidly, as if making up for lost time; however, they can be restored if the influence returns. In both cases, their bodies normally revert to the state they were in when they first attained their power.
  • An immortal is a being who possesses immortality. Immortality is a state of changelessness of varying degrees which ranges from resistance to normal causes of death to complete immunity.
  • Immortal refers to
  • Immortals are creatures who usually don't die.
Immortals are equipped with armor weave that mitigates impacts through energy dissipation. Additionally, the hardened shields used by immortals are created by intertwining spectrums and wavelengths of varying intensity. Through this, these shields are incredibly dense, able to mitigate powerful impacts such as siege tank rounds or the blades of an ultralisk, through energy dissipation. When the remaining dragoons were turned into immortals, the protoss decided to outfit them with these shields in an attempt to further preserve their most ancient and venerable warriors. Originally, the shields only activated when struck by powerful attacks, which left immortals more vulnerable to the pinprick attacks of lesser foes. By 2505, immortal shields were heavily reinforced, making the immortal invulnrable to enemy attack for short periods of time. These shields were impractical for mass production.
  • Not much is known about Immortal. His true name was lost in time and those who do know it don't even dare mutter it without being afraid of what might happen should he somehow hear it. It is known he sent a Great Being running in fear. Shortly after that the Great Beings sent him to an empty and endless void for many millenia.
  • Immortals are beings that never get old and cannot die from old age. They are either really strong beings or became immortal with the power of the Gods.
  • The Immortals were human-like in appearance, but could change their form. They had a wide range of powers. They could teleport themselves (though they had difficulty teleporting others), had psychic powers like mind control and empathy and were difficult to kill. Individual Immortals had control over certain powers, such as Poseidon's control over the water. (PROSE: Deadly Reunion)
  • An Immortal is a unique unit available to the Persian player in later Civilization games.
Immortal should not be confused with Immoral, the act of doing something fun. It is ironic then, that the pseudoscientific pursuit of immortality is often the lifelong task of immoral people, who are doing everything in their power to avoid hell. Immortality is also often confused with invulnerability: not being able to die from trauma. See: Bruce Willis
  • Resurrected in the civilizations capital if killed Most believe the Immortals to be insane or undying; they are the first into battle and the last to leave. They are left to guard the cities soon to fall and sent alone deep behind enemy lines looking for exposed troops. They are not insane, and they do die, but after each death they are reborn in the capital of their civilization. A civilization can only have 4 Immortals at once.
This ensures that a Nemesor's pre-battle address to his legions can go on for an interminably long time, as he scours his Immortals' silent forms for some glimmer of understanding and they, with the patience born of complete incomprehension, stare straight back, waiting for the order that will cast them into the maelstrom of combat once more. What Immortals lack in the flexibility of approach, they more than make up for in durability and firepower. Immortals are more thickly armoured in necrodermis than Necron Warriors and can weather a storm of Heavy Bolter or Assault Cannon fire with little more to show for it than fresh carbon-scoring on their already time-worn frames. Even should an Immortal be felled, its threat is not ended, for its auto-repair systems are, if anything, somewhat even more efficient than the baseline of Necron Warriors. Few foes can withstand the Immortals' return fire so easily. A single shot from one of their double-barreled Gauss Blasters can punch through most types of armour to strip flesh from bone, and the closer the Immortals come to their target, the shorter the interval between blistering volleys. At that point, all the foe can do is dive for cover, but this offer's only a fool's hope of survival. None can hide from the Immortals -- their Gauss Blasters will scour every nook and cranny until nothing remains but floating ash on the wind. In life, Immortals were the professional soldiery of the Necrontyr empire. In death, they surpass the Necron Warriors in nearly every way. Possessed of even more resilient frames, Necron Immortals prove almost impervious to small arms. Their training and experience in combat survived the process of bio-transference undiminished, and Immortals seem to have retained a brighter spark of intellect than their less favoured brethren, although only in regard to the practice of war. Outside of combat, Immortals display about as much personality as a monotask Servitor. Immortals are typically armed with Gauss Blasters, weapons even deadlier than the Gauss Flayers used by Necron Warriors. In one recent incident, however, a Brother Janos of the Crimson Fists Chapter reported that his Deathwatch Kill-team encountered Immortals within the Jericho Reach armed with an entirely different sort of weapon, one that emits crackling electrical blasts hot enough to melt ceramite, and capable of arcing between multiple targets. These weapons caught the Kill-team entirely off-guard, as a single glancing hit on one Battle-Brother could prove lethal to another. This unexpected development nearly cost the mission, and it was only through the noble sacrifice of Brother Lars that the Immortals were defeated. Immortals are similar in appearance to Warriors, but with larger, broader bodies, and spines that jut grotesquely upward from their backs. These living metal bodies are stronger and more heavily armoured than those of Necron Warriors and even feature superior self-repair protocols. Yet, Immortals also possess faster reflexes, and their movements are not so ungainly as Warriors. When combined with their potent skill in combat, this makes for a foe that can pose a grave threat to even a Deathwatch Kill-team. Unlike Necron Warriors, Immortals are capable of independently reacting to shifts in battle, adapting their tactics accordingly. This means Immortals are much better suited to countering the unconventional tactics often employed by Deathwatch Kill-teams. It even seems that Immortals are capable of issuing orders to Warriors, allowing a combined force to present a potent threat even when deprived of proper leadership. Still, Immortals must rely on ancient tactics and stratagems, and are little capable of true innovation. Immortals can be deployed onto a battlefield by Night Scythe transports, providing their support where it is needed most.
  • Immortal is a term in Van Helsing and in other media, as well as fiction, that means that you can not die and/or can live for an extremely long period of time. Vampires are some of the very few creatures that are immortal, but can stay this way if they drink the blood of humans.
  • Immortal is the 10th episode in Season 1 of the show Rescue Me. It is the 10th overall episode.
* decreasing the half-life of ageing/life * deleting the receptor to change life stages - the norn becomes 'stuck' in a lifestage * deleting the automatic death gene altogether Note that the original C1 creatures did not have a gene that killed them automatically, and so were potentially immortal by default - they just died in other, more interesting ways.
  • From Latin adjective immortalis, from prefix im-, not, from in-, + adjective mortalis, mortal, from mors (combining form mort-), death, + adjective suffix -alis.
  • Immortals are a group of beings that are immune to disease and stop aging after becoming Immortal. They can live forever, and can only die if they are beheaded.
  • Immortal is an achievement that can be unlocked on the PC version of Plants vs. Zombies. It requires the player to survive 20 waves of Survival: Endless. • "Immortal" is a song by John Taylor, originally released on the Techno For Two album by Cutting Edge Records / Avex Trax in 2001.
The French Immortals, having reset, now resemble teenagers. While immortals possess nearly god-like powers on the spiritual plane, they are significantly weaker on the normal, physical plane (i.e., that of the Main Universe). An average person would have trouble dealing with one, but people involved in DGB, or other people who are awakened magically, would have favored odds in a fight. This is, of course, assuming the immortal in question would play fair. Immortals have a system to keep each other in check, and have their own rules governing what they can and cannot do in the physical world. If an immortal does anything other than guide or empower a person (such as when "awakening" a "dreaming" magic user or setting a non-magic user "dreaming") on the physical plane, the other immortals get upset. Point of fact, immortals cannot harm someone on the physical plane (except in self defense), or else they will incur the wrath of the other immortals. However, there are loopholes to this rule that allows the Immortals to attack others regardless (Doing as little as threatening an Immortal is excuse enough for them to attack without repercussions from other immortals.). As immortals can use magic without being detected by mortals, this would suggest that beings who are fully immortal may be able to sense when others of their kind use their powers on the physical plane. Another trait of immortals is that many choose elitist names from ancient mythology, to the point of having two or more immortals named "Zeus," for example.
  • Immortals are a race of beings that exist outside the Cycle of Life and Death. They follow the Will of the Galaxy Universe Dark, with the wish to end the cycle so that the Universe may never fall. Immortals VS Vampires While alike, Vamipres are in fact more like the Earth-cousin to the Immortal race Immortal bodies During the series, it can be seen that Immortals can have no physical form. Dainn had none, instead stealing over the body of Ringo. Through this, this is an example of actual fusion in the series
Immortals are known to change occasionally. After an undetermined and seemingly abitrary length of time, an Immortal will begin to seek out a mortal who make take his or her place.
The player can train up to eight Immortals. For players worshiping Nü Wa and Shennong, two Immortals are available per age, while players worshiping Fu Xi can train all eight Immortals from the Archaic Age.

This is all a reference to Beldr's legend, where every object in Earth vowed to not harm Beldr, making him immortal. However, mistletoe didn't. Later, Beldr would be killed by his blind brother Höðr, who was tricked by Loki into attacking him with a spear or arrow made from mistletoe. Similarly, it's Loki who tells the protagonist about devil's fuge in Devil Survivor.

A decision of the Great Gods in 452 HE ruled that the immortals already in the Mortal Realms could remain, but the rest would be confined to the Divine Realms. This coincided with the end of the Immortals War. Different species of Immortals vary widely in temperament, intelligence, and abilities.
  • Immortal was a novel written by Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Also they are only immortal when there is more than one Immortal occupying the planet - when one Immortal kills another on Earth all the strength, memories and attributes are passed on to the victor; this phenomenon is called "the Quickening". When there is only one Immortal left on Earth they become mortal once again until another Immortal from Zeist arrives on the planet. The Immortals seem to have some knowledge of Earth culture, and for unknown reasons are forbidden from fighting on holy ground.
