Midnight is critically wounded in a duel with Alyssa Church when she attempts to assume guardianship of Sherry. His fate is left uncertain when he tells Sherry to leave him for dead on the side of a mountain road in the Vale. He is later confirmed to still be alive when he returns in Season Ten for the final battle against Silas Church.
