  • In 1985, the Real American Hero line of toys were upgraded to allow the figures to look up and down. They were given a balljointed neck piece. Previously the figures had a cylindrical neck piece with a piece of plastic molded on, to stop the pivot at less than 90 degrees left or right. The balljoint neck also had stops. Unlike with the previous upgrade to Swivel Arm Battle Grip, previous waves were not upgraded. During the 1985 release, some of the new figures - most prominently, the Dreadnoks Buzzer, Ripper and Torch - were not released with this upgrade, obviously having been designed before the innovation.
