  • Hex fuzz
rdfs:comment
  • A circuit that is often included as an ancillary feature on guitar synthesizers; it is not a synth function per se. Most guitar synths require a hex pickup, which produces an individual output signal for each string. The hex fuzz circuit takes the individual string outputs from the hex pickup and runs each through its own distortion circuit, combining the signals afterwards. This eliminates the intermodulation distortion that is produced when playing chords through a conventional guitar distortion box, producing a different sound.
